Is FAR changing in early 2010?

    I have been hearing rumors that FAR is changing in 2010 to include IFRS, etc. Can anyone confirm this? My materials are 2009 so I may consider trying to take the exam at the end of November if they are planning on changing the exam so soon.

    You're good to go in 2010…no IFRS until 2011 at the earliest

    I've been told no IFRS until 2012 at the earliest. The CPA Exam covers standards from the prior year (i.e. this year's REG uses the 2008 tax standards). The SEC will decide on the future of IFRS in 2011 and therefore, I wouldn't expect to see it until 2012.

    Hi John:

    I am planning to take FAR exam in Jan. 2010, my question is that, the new exam format will be the same as it is in 2009 or it will be changed to following structure?

    CBT-e Structure

    ? 3 Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) testlets containing a total of 90 questions

    ? 1 Testlet containing 7 short Task-Based Simulations (TBS)

    ? CBT-e Testing Time: 4 hours

    Jeff says that this will not start until 2011. Not 2010.

    your good to go; study now and you will be fine; Jan tests are cool; if you get the cod questions I bet they would be testing the waters questions and not graded…….
