    Hi All,

Hope everyone’s doing well! I have question about the CPE requirement for initial application.

I passed all four parts of the CPA exam back in Dec 2017. Since then I have been slowly working towards my education and work experience, and finally decided to apply for initial licensure this year in Pennsylvania. However, I was told by the PA State Board that since it has been more than two years from the time I have passed the exam, I have to complete at least 80 CPE credits within the past two years as part of the application.

I read through the codes (CPA Regulation § 11.64 and § 11.69a) and noticed that it says that college courses count as eligible CPE credits. I have taken a few classes from a community college in the past two years, so my questions are:

    1. Has anyone experienced a similar situation where they had to do CPEs for their initial application? If so, do you guys have any advice/recommendations that you could share on how I should tackle this?
    2. Can I use these courses I have taken towards my 80 required CPEs although they were not accounting/business related courses from an accredited college?
    3. If so, what do I need to submit along with my application (i.e. transcript)?

Any input is welcome, and thanks in advance!
