    Hi Everyone,

I am currently taking the exams with State of Maine. I work for a small firm in California, which only provides tax services and accounting write ups. However, when I am researching for the work experience requirements for Maine – it says I need to have a minimum of two years in the use of accounting skills or the use of audit skills, including the issuance of reports on financial statements. I only prepare financial statements, but not audit procedures. Could anyone helpful me to understand if I can have the license in Maine ? Or I have to transfer the credits to CA to get a license ?
I haven’t passed any CPA exams yet but I am just so worried …
CA requirements for transferring out of state credits state that the applicant should have 24 semester units in accounting and business related classes. My college major wasn’t accounting, but I had a Master’s Degree in accounting though. My Graduate school operates on quarter system but on back of my transcript, they INDEED say that “HOWEVER CREDIT IS REPORTED BY THE SEMESTER HOUR”. After two years of graduate school, my total earned credits are exactly 48…Does that mean I can get the license in California and I only need to transfer the credits from Maine?
Anyone kindly shares any insights is greatly appreciated…

CalCPA is the CPA Society in California- read this https://www.calcpa.org/cpa-licensure/cpa-licensure-requirements/out-of-state-applicants
You should confirm this before getting licensed in Maine since you work in California

    AUD - 93
    BEC - 82
    FAR - 76
    REG - 88
