Turns out you CAN be weaker on SIMs and pass REG….

So I managed to pass REG with a 77 (yay!) but my score report turned out to be pretty interesting.

Turns out, I was stronger in BLaw, Federal Tax, Property Tax, and Tax on Entities. I was comparable on Ethics and Individual Tax. The only area I was weaker on?? SIMs. I was a bit shocked to see that. I didn’t think that I knocked the SIM’s out of the park, but I did feel alright about all but one of them.

It also surprised me that I scored weaker on SIMs and still managed to eek out a passing score. So for anyone out there who’s wondering if it’s possible? It is.

Also of note – my exam experience was different from what I’ve been reading on here. I generally try not to guess the difficulty of my testlets because I find that’s subjective. And to me, this is proof that it is subjective. I felt that my testlets went medium-medium-easy. I didn’t feel like my questions were too intense, and the last testlet was not bad at all really. So for you testtakers freaking out because your testlets seemed to get easier, don’t give up hope!

I had a similar experience with you. I was weaker on sim too and stronger in mcq and I managed to pass reg with a 77.

How are you guys getting a break down of your score when you pass? I only get my score when I pass and no break down (only when I fail).

It depends on what state they're in. In MA you only get a report when you fail.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

I wish we got the reports on a pass.

Wait, why do I care? I'm not taking this crap again. 🙂

Wish my state gave us a report on the areas we were stronger/comparable/weaker when you pass. Would like to know where I had issues, but NY doesn't send them out when you receive a passing grade.

For me it only showed weaker/stronger detail when I failed..

    FAR - 71, 68, 74, (8/31/14) 78 ✔
    REG - 67, 71, 71, (10/18/14) 78 ✔
    BEC - (11/29/14) 86 ✔
    AUD - 73, (4/4/15) 86 ✔

I can't believe this is over! 2 years and 3 months..
