Travelling here, visa, accomodations, travelling to prometric and being away from home are some of the major issues faced by international candidates. It adds to the stress of CPA exam taking, however, you have done a very good job so far in passing 3. Re-studying for BEC ( sorry you lost that credit) after you restudy for REG, make one trip and pass them both.
YOU MUST have FAITH in YOU and you will conquer REG and pass BEC again.
These are just suggestions
1. Study both REG and BEC in that order (REG is still fresh for you)
2. Supplement those materials with another. (example: after you are finish with Becker/Wiley and Ninja use CPAreviewforfree to see the questions from another perspective).
3. Know Business Law like a poetry…matter of fact know the material like poetry (the more you know the less they can trick you)
4. Practice your SIMS (Try hard to familiarize yourself with the various format, even if some thing foreign pops up on exam day you will have some basic idea of what to do)
5. When you get a question wrong/right understand why
6. Understand the the general rule for filing taxes (i.e. filing dates, S corp vs. LC vs. LLC etc)
Be prepared to take the two exams within a few days of each other. Remember that you would have already studied for both prior to your arrival here. Take REG as qiuckly as possible from your arrival date and have at least two days to look over BEC after REG.

What materials are you using/used?
You mentioned that you used Becker/Wiley and the Ninja, are you using the material as suggested?
I used Becker and it worked great for me. I failed FAR a few times with the exact score of 70 each time. I boosted my confidence by going going over the material multiple and knowing/understand it.(On exam day every single question I saw I was confident that my selected answer was the right choice no matter how strange the question was worded.)
Confidence…confidence and stamina when studying the material are major parts of passing any parts of this exam.
Take small breaks when studying it does great wonders in helping the information to sink in.
Which ever study material(s) you are using please utilize it to the maximum.
I strongly suggest making your own note cards and carry them around with you.
Making you own note cards makes you understand the material more (you put it in your own words).
Example:(on front of 3X5 card) What is the latest date that individual can file taxes?
(your answer on the back) Taxes must be filed by April 15th (noting weekends)
Make it so that knowledge of the filing deadline leads you to remember that you can get an extention to file and then compare individual filing dates vs. business filing dates.
You MUST be very comfortable in understanding the majority of the information in whatever material(s) that you are using.

February 7, 2013 at 5:52 pm #397352zi007adParticipant@CPAexamhard: Thanks for reply my strategy was as follows:
1- I watch Becker lecture.
2- Solve the Homework (scored 60-70)
3- read the lecture notes.
4- re-solve the homework (scored 70-80)
5- solve the Simulation.
6- After finishing the 1st round i keep on reading the lecture and resolving Becker passmaster / solving wiley review (almost 6 times).
last time i added Ninja i read it and rewritten it 5 times ! i had a strong confidence feeling that am okay .. but now am sure something is wrong ! the problem with me is in 2 sections ! which are always weak ( Transaction in property and Federal tax process) thats why i bought NiNja notes i thought maybe they are focusing more on these points.
am really so interested with your “notes card” approach i guess am gonna add it to my studying the next time, my real worry is repeating BEC my problem with BEC is the written communication more than the material itself. english is not my first language so am not so good at forming comprehensions…

February 7, 2013 at 10:15 pm #397354AnonymousInactiveFor REG spend more time in those weak areas make them strong or stronger than the other areas.
Know realized vs. recognized, gains and losses carrybacks and carry forwards. Go back to the basics stuff
Do MCQs over and over. Do MCQs from different sources that way you will be able to see questions and answers from different perspective (CPAReviewforfree has some questions that I think are very strange but then some questions on the actual exam are strange too). So practice , practice, practice …. MCQs
For BEC if you can master the MCQs and know the topics very well then that will make you better with the WC.
For the WC just stick to the topic they are asking you to write on. Three to four paragraphs
paragraph 1. Introduction of the topic, (Example why you are recommending X)
Paragraph 2-3. Develope your reasons for your recommendations
paragraph 4. Conclusions
Follow the techniques in your review material ….no bullets, no abbreviations until you have actually written the words first and noting the abbreviation. Proper punctuation is essential here too
Do spell check at the end
In practicing BEC WC select a topic that you are good at and pretent you are putting it in a memo to someone else.
Practice and have faith in what you are doing.
A 74 while not the score any cadidate wants it does show that with more work and confidence your score definately improve.

REG may be the only section where you have to practice sims as much as you practice mcq because the sims are all fill in the blank…no drop down, no pick from a list, you either know it or you don't. in a mcq there are 4 answers and 1 of them has to be right so you have a 25% chance. in a sim there is no 25%, its blank, fill it in. lotta people say if you know the mcq you will do alright in sims but are you able to fill out a form 4797 by studying mcq?
as you can see i've taken REG a few times and i was finally able to get over the hump when i started truly studying sims. i'm not talking about looking at it here and there, i'm talking about actually studying them as much as you study mcq. it took my understanding of the subjects to a whole new level, when i thought i already knew it
good thing is you only have to practice tax sims, no blaw
good luck!

February 8, 2013 at 5:19 pm #397359AnonymousInactive@ai007 – My biggest reccomendation is that you take note of the Sims you received during your exam. If you don't pass, make a point to study the Sims you had on the test. Sometimes the same Sim will pop-up on your retake. If this happens, you should at least be able to get more points. Each time you fail the exam, you should be adding to the list of Sim questions to study. Just my $.02
