Could I have possibly passed?

I just made a thread explaining my experience with this exam, but this is the condensed version. I’m hoping someone could tell me if I have a chance of passing this time around. Here’s the gist.

First MCQ section was moderate and I feel I did poorly (8-9 flagged as unsure). Second MCQ, I felt the questions were easier and I think I only did marginally better than the 1st section (6-7 flagged as unsure). Third MCQ, I felt these were easy questions as well and I feel I did well (flagged 3-4 as unsure). Simulations, I think I did well here. So, since the sections difficulty is based on your performance on the previous section, I feel I did poorly. Is there a chance that I still passed?

Here is a link to the full story in case you wanted to read it. I have more detailed information on the questions asked and simulations.

    Just Another REG story

Also, the first time I took this exam I took it along with FAR. I was sure I had passed REG and failed FAR. Turned out I had passed FAR and failed REG. So, since I feel like I probably failed this time I around, I’m optimistic…… I want this to be over.

My experience was similar, but I'm fairly sure I failed because the sims were so straight-forward and required no little or no calculation. I wish I could say that I got a lot out of the Ninja Notes, but I'm not sure they helped with this particular section. I got 14 MCQs and 2 sim questions on estates, which were barely covered in the notes and the CPA Excel material.

FYI the SIMs are not based on your MCQ performance – only the MCQs scale based on performance. I just took REG yesterday and felt like the SIMs weren't that bad, too, so I'm hoping that we were all just lucky with our SIMs! 🙂

My guess is you performed weaker on the MCQ's since the testlets did not seem to get harder. I think it all depends on how well you did on the sims.
