Hi everyone, so I failed REG with a 74 and I'm torn. My NTS expires on November 13th and I'm planning on starting to study for BEC to take it on 11/13. I don't want to lose my $$ for BEC if I fail that because I'm too busy studying again for REG. I'm thinking of taking REG again in December, so I can have a little under a month to restudy after taking BEC. I'm not sure if this is a really stupid idea and I'd really appreciate any input on this!

You were so very close. You ought to try to retake REG first. Why don't you cram Ninja's 20 day review and sit REG on October 1st? Then study BEC for the six weeks. That's plenty of time for BEC. If you wait until December to sit REG you likely will forgotten a lot of it. It's fresh in your mind now.

    AUD - 85
    BEC - 92
    FAR - 84
    REG - 88
I've found an anomaly in the Space-Time Continuum. NASBA and the AICPA are in the 19th century. They use slide rules to score the exam, and then they send the scores by Pony Express to the State Boards. That's why it takes so long for them to do a score release.

Def retake REG and do what the poster above stated. For REG I personally found it easier to learn by doing constant MCQs and reading the answer explanations. Reading the material gets hard to keep going over without seeing the concepts applied in a question form, but I’d reread the material over before cranking out MCQs. Good luck.

I agree with @theaccountant… you were so close and a little over a week of hammering cummulative MCQ's could get you there! once you see your score report it will help to see what areas are needed to be polished. WHat worked for me on REG was get a big white poster board and divide it vertically into three sections and I put the Partnership, S-corp, and corp's differences (basis, distributions or dividends, liquidation process, etc). so I could visually see it everyday as I answered questions and it helped me see the big picture and I know that basis is a big portion of the test according to the blueprint so hope that helps in case that's something you struggled with.

    FAR - 69, 84

    AUD- 81

    REG- 87

    BEC- 88
