    Hi guys and another71.

    just found out my score for Reg. I got a 67, it was my second time taking it, and I did worse than my first time (70).

    My first time around I used Beckers only, supplemented w/ ninja notes.

    2nd time around, I purchased wiley test bank and did mcq’s over and over and over, and over again. and read the updated ninja notes as much as i could. (For my 2nd time around for Far, I used wiley test bank and passed w/ flying colors.)

    I was comparable in all the topics, except for ethics section.

    and then weaker in both mcq’s and sims.

    extremely devastated and frustrated when I find out that i did worse, especially on the last exam that I need to take. my first one expires oct 28. i know i can’t quit, but i am ready to.

    any advice or suggestions?

    If you don't want to watch the same lectures again you could switch courses. I think Roger is pretty cheap compared to Becker. He's entertaining as well!

    @iwantmylifeback Congrats at passing REG! Also if you may note, Roger is very funny and was featured in “The Dating Game” back ages ago! Funny he's the only person on there with credentials!

    REG = 58 (02-20-13), 75 (05-01-13)
    AUD = 67 (05-29-13), 79 (08-29-13)
    BEC = 83 (07-31-13)
    FAR = 72 (10-29-13), 69 (02-27-14), 73 (04-16-14), 81(08-13-14)

    Study Materials = Becker 2013 + Wiley Online Test Bank
    (75%) On my Way to a CPA (minus the experience requirement)!

    Thank you, @kudawudashuda! Congrats on AUD!

    Hang in there Tarranz, REG is a beast of an exam. But if you put in the quality time it will pay dividends. My strategy was to type all of the notes, go through the homework once while adding in details from the homework, and then rewrite everything I typed by hand while doing MCQ after each chapter of notes.

    AUD 99
    REG 88

    I am also having to re-sit REG . I wasn't going to re watch the videos but after reading this i think i should.

    I am strong in Individual taxes and Ethic's.. So would you say I should watch the videos on the other topic that i am weak in and just keep practicing questions on the ones I am strong in ?

    I will make notes on all the topics again whether i am strong or weak.

    Appreciate your advice.

    Insiyah24 🙁 sorry you have to retake. I was rooting for you to get a great big pass this go 'round.

    I really think you have to study all of the areas, just like you did, plus some. Because the way you did it the first time wasn't enough or else you wouldn't have to do it again. This is just my opinion, from my experience. What I did the first time, wasn't good enough, or I would have passed. I didn't study less for my retake, I studied more.

    Hi everyone. I am also planning on studying for a FAR retake (I originally got a 72). I was not planning on re-watching the videos, but rather re-read the book and take more notes and re-write my original notes. I also just purchased the Ninja Notes and WTB to supplement my Becker course. Now after reading this, I am wondering if I should also re-watch all the videos?

    Think of it this way… You are out on a track and you have to run a mile. When you come up short on the exam score, it's like you didn't finish the final lap. The AICPA isn't going to plop you on the track where you left off and let you have credit for the distance you ran last time. They are going to force you to start at the same starting line and it is the same 1 mile distance to the finish. If you only try to run from the point you left off to the finish line, well you are going to come up even shorter than before. You have to push harder and go further this time. You have to run the whole mile.

    You don't need 5 more points or 8 more points… you still need the same 75 points that is required of everyone who passes.

    Study hard. Pass easy.

    @terranz – The actual time it takes will vary so greatly for each person. I wouldn't retake REG on 4 weeks of study time, I bet it would take me about 6 weeks. But I always spent a minimum of 2 weeks (about 50-60 hours) of PURE REVIEW. To really nail my weak areas and build confidence. I didn't want to go into an exam room if I didn't feel like I had absolute authority over the questions. I studied to the point I was like, “let me at it!!! I'm going to kill this exam!!!!”. Then again, I was pretty pissed off and sick of failing, lol.
