I have not posted on this site before but I was hoping to get some help from this group. I have already gotten a lot of relief from reading people’s posts.

I took Reg the second time on the 24th. I Used Wiley/Yaeger, went through the videos several times, did the questions a couple of times. Memorized formulas etc. My 2cnd testing experience was not a mass of confusion like my first in which I scored a 64 but I left there wanting to cry because it was not how I expected it to go. The sims were not that bad but they were not things I had gone over most recently so with the time pressure I got confused, plus they threw in scenarios I had never seen or heard about. I can’t say I failed but I sure can’t say I passed either. I have passed FAR and AUD but my credits will start to run out in June. My question is should I start studying for BEC while I wait or should I focus on REG until I know that I passed it? If I have to take it again I will have to do it on the 1st of April because after that I have to work on BEC. BTW, I work full time, am married and have a HIGH energy 7 year old. I started studying right after her 4th birthday. My husband is “DONE” with my exam process so I am feeling a LOT of pressure right now. Any ecouragement/advise would really be appreciated.

    FAR 61 78*
    AUD 73 76
    REG 64 68 75
    BEC 60

    *expired 6/9/13

I know how you feel, my wife is definitely “done” with me studying also. I have to tell her today that I study for another round of REG to retake in April and I don't know how she's going to take it. I felt good about this last 69 I received on Monday and basically lead her to believe that I was going to pass. I won't make that mistake again. Anyway, I think, and this is only my opinion, you should set REG aside until you know for sure you passed or not and focus on BEC for right now because you don't want to waste your time studying for REG if you passed, again just my opinion.

Good luck with the fam and your score.

I attempted to start studying for AUD while I was awaiting my FAR score but discovered that I was unable to do because (A) I was concerned that I wouldn't pass FAR and then would be back to having to study both simultaneously and (B) as a contributing factor, AUD is (at least to me) by far the least palatable of the parts of the exam. I actually enjoy doing the problems in the other sections; I like memorizing theory and definitions much less! Anyway, I also made the not-so-intelligent decision to schedule FAR on January 23, two days after the projected first wave cutoff.

With that said, I think that my decision to wait for my FAR would have been different if credit for other parts of the exam was starting to run out. I guess I have five windows to do the remaining two parts before BEC would expire for me, but if I was down to one or two windows, I would definitely want to give myself as many opportunities as possible for passing whatever I needed!

    iblive67,

Have faith, believe in your ability to conquer REG. REG is not that bad, you have to understand the basic concepts and then build on them. If you took REG on the 24th (February) then you may have some time to wait for your result. The time spent waiting (about two weeks ) could be used to study BEC, or you can start to restudy for REG (if you think you did that bad).

Suggestion: I would start BEC and have faith that REG was ok.

I hope and pray that your Husband will support you in your journey. You MUST DRAW COURAGE from within you, have faith and you will be fine. When you take these exams you must be comfortable and have faith that your answer choice is the correct/best answer. I suggest practicing MCQ and SIMS from different sources so that you can see different perspective.

I can relate to you somewhat, failed FAR a few times, I am done though. Wife, two (3 & 8) children and two dogs. I think she was about to quit on me because my studying was making her miserable ( I should be the one miserable”CPA candidates are very miserable when studying”). I was doing alot to ensure that we had a balance, full time job, cooking dinner almost every evening, breakfast and packing lunches for children, getting them dressed for school every mornings, laundry ,housecleaning, cutting the lawn. My wife would pick them up after school and I did too sometimes. I would take them to the park some weekdays and always on a Saturady before or after studying but it was tough. I studied when they were watching tv or sleeping so I was getting few hours sleep, but when you want anything you have to sacrifice.

Spend time with your daughter and husband get him to understand that you really want to pass and be done too. When the process is over you will be stronger and the family will benefit.

When you have the passion of the CPA designation, only then will one understand how we cope with all factors during the process

    YES YOU CAN

Thank you all so much for your support, this is exactly what I needed! I hope that each one of you has absolute success with these exams. Only until someone goes through the process can they truly relate to the sheer magnitude of the commitment that it takes!

What I think I will do is read the NINJA notes (i did not use these in my review because I had 50+ notecards that I used instead) and start on the BEC material which I should get any day now.

    Best to you!
