Is there a general theory on how to determine pretested questions? I just took REG today, and I can’t help but wonder which TBS was pretested. Do we think pretested questions are usually the harder ones, the slightly new-format ones, or could they possibly be the ones that seemed geared to the new tax changes in the 2019 exams?? Anyone have any theories?

You can't. If they made it obvious that it was a pretest question, who in the world would bother wasting time on them? The only person who knows if it was a pretest question is the AICPA.

Honestly what is done is done, time to move on in life. No point in smashing your head against the wall wondering whether it was a pretest or not question.
