Took Reg this morning at 9AM. After reading how deadly the sims typically are for REG I was not very excited once I finished the multiple choice. I think I did quite well on the multiple choice. After practicing hundreds and hundreds…probably a few thousand by the time I finished studying I felt very prepared for everything they threw at me. I use Becker, Wiley Online Test Bank and the week before I did the new 2011 released REG questions and then studied Jeff’s NINJA notes for the first time. Can I say—-Those notes are awesome. There were a few multiple choice on topics that were neither in Becker or the NINJA notes but there is nothing you can do about those except take your best educated guess. Anyways, back the to sims. They weren’t as bad as I thought. I knocked out the research question in less than 5 minutes. USE THE ADVANCED SEARCH FEATURE THAT IS PART OF THE IRC IT WILL MAKE IT SO MUCH EASIER TO FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR!!! One of my sims was on a topic that was never covered either in my schooling or reveiew. The other ones weren’t horrible, but not easy either.

Just wanted to say, I think Becker prepared me very well and the multiple choice that they use are harder than on the actual test.

Make sure you UNDERSTAND the concepts, just not memorize them. It will truly help with the law. Ask yourself, WHY is that the right answer.

I wish I was as confident as you about the FAR test I took today.

Thanks for reporting back! My exam is next Sat and I'm horrified! I feel like I won't retain everything I need to by the end of next week.

@atelery No worries. Yeah I don't think B-law has ever been a sim on REG. You would definitely recommend going over the ninja notes after Becker? Wouldn't mind buying that for the price I saw.

I had a similar experience with REG a few weeks ago. I felt fairly good going through the MC's and the sims were okay as well. FAR was odd too, I felt okay with the MC's and with about 4/7 sims (the others I did alright with). It's impossible to tell how the MC's are going, I came out with an 84 so I must have gotten a difficult level for the second and third testlets, but while I was taking the exam they all seemed sort of similar. Who knows anyway, I give up on trying to tell what's going on during the exam. Hopefully REG went well for you (crossing my fingers for myself as well). Best advice, don't even bother trying to track yourself during the exam. It's impossible to tell what's happening and what's going on and it does nothing but waste your time.

I didn't purchase Ninja Notes for REG so I am not sure. I am more of a tax person so I am better at REG than AUD.

But for audit since I failed by 1 point my first try, I decided to purchase Ninja. I love it, a very easy way to test myself and see if I could remember all the key points.

But back to your question, from my audit experience, yes, after Becker than go with Ninja works really well IMO 🙂

I didn't think the SIMS were as bad as people made them out to be. I had 1 that was way out in left field and I'm pretty sure that was a pretest. It was just crazy and I really didn't even know what they were asking. It seemed like more of a FAR type SIM than REG. The others were tough, but fair. I was able to knock out the research SIM in less than 5 minutes too.

I'll find out in 3 weeks how I did.

The NINJA notes are very good for key points. I just purchased them a couple months ago and it was well worth it for the price!

I just got out of REG this morning…overall it wasnt “horrible” my mcq testlets got harder with a lot of calculations..The SIMs were rough..I didnt nail any of them…thought i did enough to get about 50% on all…the research took me sometime but finally found it. I hate sims that you need to enter amounts…there are no options to choose and how can they possibly grade for partial credit on those…oh well time to start FAR

I also took REG today. I was comfortable with the MCQ's, some out of left field but all in all I think I did fine. The simulations on the other hand were awful, the research and one or two others weren't too bad but I had two on a topic that had only been a sentence or two in Yaeger and the Ninja notes so I just had no idea (What are the chances of getting two simulations on the same topic that you've never heard of – not my lucky day!). Hopefully one of those two was the pre-test and my educated guesses were enough for the other troubled ones!

To me, it's not about luck. It's whether you know the material. Which is something I knew before, during and after the exam I wasn't prepared for that section.

    AUD - Passed:)
    FAR - Passed:)
    REG - Retake TBD
BEC - Missed by 3 points Retake TBD
