Dear REG top scorers, please, share your study routines to ace the exam. This is my last exam and I failed once with 59. My retake is in November and I want to finish this journey asap. Thanks all 🙂

I'm not really a top scorer – but I passed with lots and lots of MCQ. I also re-wrote my notes, but that's because writing things down helps me remember it. It all really comes down to how you learn best.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 82
    FAR - 79
    REG - 86

I am also looking for advices here. I started my CPA journey with REG and turned out 73. If I can choose again, I definitely will not take REG at first. Really kill confidence. I just restart REG study and hopefully I will pass my next try in November.

    AUD - NINJA in Training
    BEC - 93
    FAR - 91
    REG - 73
Work hard for 75% on every test!

    - Reg(4/2): 73 (Gleim only, 8 weeks) On my second try

    - Far(5/9): 91 (Gleim only, 5 weeks while dealing with finals)

    - Bec(6/10): 93 (Gleim only, 3 weeks full-time study with good luck)

I would dedicate 1 session per week to review the material you have already studied to keep the material fresh in your mind and the final review manageable.

Based on personal experience and what I’ve read on this forum, there’s basically one tried and true method. Crush MCQs without memorizing the answers. In other words, be able to explain the correct answer and explain why the others are incorrect. If you get one wrong or have to completely guess then make sure to write down a note about what you got wrong, read the question again and then move on. Complete every single MCQ in the review course with this technique and supplement with video lectures and reading on topics that you really struggle with. This was basically my strategy for all of the exams.

    AUD - 96
    BEC - 88
    FAR - 95
    REG - 93

Based upon the other scores members have posted my score is one of the higher ones (although definitely not the highest).

I echo what others have said about MCQ practice.

Read my motivational speech in the thread below. If anyone has a hard luck story caused by REG then I stand guilty as charged (all credit was lost for exams due to inability to pass REG years back).

    It's never too late!!

See score, questions and time frame below.
Keep in mind I had 15 years in tax and the EA exams. Your results may vary but I am a firm believer in more MCQs = higher score.
10 question MCQ quizzes so you can get to the review stage BEFORE you forget the question trunk so you don't have to re-read and analyze the question to see why you got the answer right or wrong.
Or if your software has study mode that shows the correct answer immediately.
    Study smarter, not harder.
