    Hello,

Looking to schedule a test date. Is there a round about time frame in weeks most study for Reg when starting from scratch?

For prior sections I usually am able to study around 25 hours a week.

Thanks for any input you can offer.

I'd try to do about 6 weeks if you have no tax experience.

Memento Mori - Kingston NY CPA & EA (SUNY Albany 2002)

    FAR-93 11/9/17 (10wks, 250 hrs, Roger 1800+ MCQs, Gleim TB 600+MCQs, SIMs)
AUD-88 12/7/17 (3 wks, 85 hrs, Roger 1000 MCQs no SIMs hail mary)
    REG-96 1/18/18 (6 wks, 110 hrs, 1400 MCQs, no SIMs)
    BEC-91 2/16/18 (4wks, 90 hrs, 1240 MCQs)

I didn’t have much experience with tax when I first started studying. I spent a total of 5 weeks. However, the first 3 were a shit-show (Due to longer hours at work. I still followed my schedule studying for about 35 hours a week, but these weren’t quality hours) and the last 2 weeks involved full-time studying (took time off from work). Surprisingly, Wiley has less material for REG than for BEC and most tax material is in the second half of the course, which I believe helped me because I wasn’t absorbing much during the first 3 weeks of studying. BTW, I finished the course in 4 weeks and the 5th week was just for a review.

Agree with Recked – if you are doing 25 hours a week, 6 weeks should be enough.
