Does anyone know of any company that is a great place to do internship with? I am having a hard time looking for internship for accounting. Also, if you can share the experience you had as an accounting intern that would be great. Thank you.

The best way to get an accounting internship is through your school. I have done two accounting (tax) internships, one that lasted two years with a fortune 50 financial services firm and the other with a public accounting firm. Both internships were secured through my University. I would highly suggested contacting your career services department, or getting involved in organizations such as Beta Alpha Psi.

    Good Luck!

Hey look. The person asking a bunch of CPAs/CPA candidates to help him cheat on an exam can't find an internship.

    Im shocked!!

This is unbelievable! Internships are for students WHO TAKE THEIR OWN TESTS!

I couldn't believe his other post asking us to take his exam. I went in and looked and this is the only other thread he started!

    Too funny.

To anyone else actually looking for an internship, I would say check out your local seaport/airport. I was surprised to see my local port offered a ton of internships and I interned in their accounting department last summer.

I'd look in the federal government. I started out interning for the Department of Defense when I was in college (learned about the opportunity through a job fair), and now I work for them full time as an Auditor. It is a lot easier to get government internships through the Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP) than to apply full time through USAJobs. If you clock enough hours as an intern, you can be immediately transferred to full time.

Try Universities to start out! Looking at billions of dollars in revenues & expenses is an invaluable experience.

Elaine – yes it was. This year it's $12.95 to $19.42. It depends upon your year in school, your experience, and whatnot. I am thinking about applying again if I don't get the internship I really want. I really liked working at the Port! The only problem I found is that you can't really get a job there without a few years of experience. I know 1 person who did, but it seems to be hard to do so. This is just for this port. I don't know about the others.
