I applied with my local accountancy board to take one of the exams on Monday, 2/01. I still haven’t received my payment coupon / NTS as of today, Friday, 2/05.

I went out to the NASBA site and they have in big red lettering – “Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it may take up to 8 weeks from the date all application materials have been received to receive your Notice to Schedule.”

Seriously???? WTH? That’s ridiculous. Wow. I mean…wow. Just…wow. I’ve been going into my office every single day for the last year. And, I’m expected to do the same amount of work I did and actually more, since all of this started. Some people have been lucky enough to work remotely. And, trust me, I feel lucky to have a job in our current climate. But….up to 8 weeks to process an application to sit for an exam???? Wow.

My teenage son to me "If you don't pass, it isn't like you'll die or anything."  True.  Very true.  Just do your best, it's all you can do.

This only applies to the first time CPA candidates. I thought you've already taken the exam so that makes you a reexamination candidate? I was approved to get my NTS very quickly, took me 1 or 2 days to receive it.

    AUD - 78
    BEC - 76
    FAR - 80
    REG - 77
    FAR 80

I have – and am. But, four days later, no payment coupon. I did email my state accountancy board to ask what the issue was. My interpretation wasn't first time test takers, but….maybe you're right. Still weird that four days later no email.

Just an update on this. I submitted my application to my state board and it was a week later that I received the Coupon payment notification from NASBA. When I signed in to NASBA it listed that I was trying to sit for BEC AND REG and of course wanted to charge me the $400+ for the two exams.

I called NASBA and they said I had to call my state board. I emailed my state board yesterday and then today received an updated coupon payment email from NASBA.

I paid NASBA today so just waiting to get the NTS tomorrow or Thursday.

It was just the weirdest experience from the fact that it took a week for NASBA to issue the payment notification and then for it to list two sections instead of the one.

Just part of the fun of the exam, right? Covid is still a thing too. I feel like I'm still stuck in 2020!
