What’s everyone’s study goals this weekend? I am up early looking to get in 7 hours of lecture today. Exhausting right now, but I know it will be so worth it in the end.August 3, 2019 at 11:03 am #2602848nmj012Participant
I've got FAR on the 18th So I'm hoping to get through the last of the new material and maybe start reviewing. Aiming to do 12 hours today and tomorrow (taking breaks every hour). We can do it!August 3, 2019 at 1:25 pm #2603247
I'm in as well. Expect to do 10hours today. I am starting with ninja notes and going to do mcq's topic by topic. Oh I dread mcq's, but there is no reason to keep putting it off. I know I can't memorize the book or notes so hey. I'm in ALL DAY.August 3, 2019 at 2:52 pm #2603502August 3, 2019 at 4:13 pm #2603709
@Me, I am working on Far. I failed Reg but Far is paid for so I decided to go on. Which part are you studying?August 3, 2019 at 4:21 pm #2603721runincpaParticipant
Goal is 6 hours today, and 6 hours tomorrow. Currently studying for BEC. I just failed AUD with a 72, and that was my first CPA Exam. I'm planning on taking BEC in 3 weeks, then FAR in late October. I've been using the BEC Plus videos and they seem pretty helpful so far. I've been trying to do at least 100 MCQs everyday so I can get them all done by the end of next week, which would give me 2 weeks to review any week topics.August 3, 2019 at 6:14 pm #2603994
I am currently studying for BEC. I have that in 13 days. Then I take FAR in mid October. I have readjusted my study plan to review the highlighted portions from lectures since I felt I was spending too much time and not grasping things. Tomorrow I will begin MCQs – non-stop of course. @Runincpa it looks like we have the same study track. Helps to know someone is on the same track. Hopefully everyone has had/is having a successful study day.August 4, 2019 at 6:20 am #2604939
Another day, more hours to study. Good luck everyone, make it a successful day!!August 5, 2019 at 9:28 am #2607912
I'm in all day today. I was not satisfied with my weekend. But I am the only one that can change this. I've had so many disruptions until I am aggravated today. But today is a new day so okay, so my rant is over. On to study.August 6, 2019 at 7:23 pm #2612547August 7, 2019 at 11:18 am #2613948August 10, 2019 at 5:07 am #2620818
Absolutely fell off track this week with not feeling well and other things going on. Rescheduled exam for last week in August to give myself a bit more time. My lack of preparing has caused me to need to finish ALL MCQs within the next 14 days to give myself 3 days for review. Hoping this is possible. Kinda feel like I keep setting myself for failure. Been at this for WAY too long and I really want to finish this to move on to different things. Happy weekend studying all! Hope it is productive.August 10, 2019 at 2:14 pm #2621829nmj012Participant
I am right there with you, have had to reschedule my test as well. If you really focus I think you can do it, hope you've had a productive Saturday!August 10, 2019 at 6:31 pm #2622372ahugemistakeParticipant
August 25th is the absolute latest I can take my test. So I am in my final review phase for AUD. Rereading my notes and doing MCQs. In Wiley my goal is to wrap up the Assessing Risks section today, and start the Performing Procedures and Obtaining Evidence.
I basically reread all my notes, do 30% of the questions for the whole topic and move on. My goal is to be done with all sections by next weekend, and use the last week to hammer in the MCQs + problem areas.August 13, 2019 at 8:19 am #2627688
Just came off a long weekend. My intentions were to study while my family and I attended my Husbands 40th year family reunion in Chicago. I thought study was going to be easy because of the way the events were planned and travel time. Boy, was I wrong. So I took all of my stuff (laptop, flashcards, ninja notes, note book, etc) for nothing. I listen to the ninja audio during the 6 hour drive, until my husband yelled, “who is that, turn than off, put that in your ears”! (lol) I thought he was into the ninja audio, but I guess it was too much. So the weekend is gone, study lacked and I am preparing for Sept 9th. I need motivation and luck. I definitely will have to do the hustle as of today until test day.August 13, 2019 at 4:59 pm #2628915
Tncincy — all the luck! I am with you. I would so like to just go cuddle with my little one, but know I need to get through this. Hope you have had a successful day so far!August 15, 2019 at 2:08 am #2631654
Exhaustion and lack of the ability to focus makes you wonder sometimes —- what am I doing?! It’s Thursday and up at 3am….to study. Let’s not make this study goals – weekend … just STUDY GOALS to get through this next exam!August 15, 2019 at 1:07 pm #2632452yvettewalkerParticipant
Re-write a months worth of notes (important points) and MCQ's until my eyes bleed. BUT . . . before all of THAT fun, my husband has a tennis tournament at 8am, so I'll use my phone and the Wiley app to answer MCQ's while I'm out there!! Haaaaa, so exciting!August 16, 2019 at 9:42 am #2634114
@1819istheyear – I agree, The post title is study goals-weekend. But I need to have daily goals to make it to my next test. So I am accepting the challenge again to face those mcq's. I'm starting with my ninja notes, I write notes so much I should know them by hard. But I am starting with the notes so when I go after the questions I can feel confident about getting them correct. I know, I know, repetition is the best way to conquer the mcq's but I am still gun shy.August 16, 2019 at 1:42 pm #2634564earbulanParticipant
Fri 2hrs, Sat 6hrs, Sun 6hr. I'm trying to effectively and realistically max out on study hours this weekend for my Reg exam in 3 weeks.August 17, 2019 at 3:24 am #2635614August 18, 2019 at 12:21 am #2637477SkynetParticipant
My goal is to send good vibes and to cheer on all the CPA candidates who are studying on the weekend.👍August 19, 2019 at 9:24 am #2640585
I'm in all day today. Going topic by topic with the mcq's. 2 hours of notes, 4 hours mcq, 2 – 3 hours review. This is a flexible schedule, maybe even how long I can stand being at the coffee shop. I can't study at my office because people like to stop by and talk. So I'm changing my study places. I used to study with the radio shows on, or sport events but I thought this is too serious to be too casual. Anyone else changed their study locations or the way they study? noisy or quiet.August 20, 2019 at 6:42 am #2642841
I am trying to study with music because it seems every time I am at the exam center the individuals who work there make A LOT of noise. I am set to study for a majority of the day. Need to focus. Got off track with my little one sick this weekend … so back at it today.August 20, 2019 at 7:15 pm #2644839
Feeling like I should have never purchased Becker …. I feel I am just lost at this point with exhaustion and not being able to focus.August 31, 2019 at 3:45 am #2667222
Ready to get through some study material. Long weekend, hopefully a lot of studying. Hopefully everyone has a great plan for the weekend and accomplishes a lot!August 31, 2019 at 7:18 am #2667483thunderlipsParticipant
to those studying like the rest of us, lets use the holiday to make up for any lost time and really buckle down. lets finish this thing so we can get our lives back!!August 31, 2019 at 9:58 am #2667846IcaritoParticipant
Feel the same way, @Some_day. The weather forecast for this entire weekend is absolutely perfect, and I will be stuck inside all 3 days finalizing BEC for test on the 7th.
That said, I need some help with Becker Chapter 6. My test is in a week and I have not yet looked at the IT portion. I am thinking of skipping the lectures and just hammering MCQ open book. Will the lectures be beneficial for IT portion of BEC?
I also have not yet looked at the SIMS yet, so I plan to use those with the SkillMaster videos as a review, instead of going through them on my own. This worked for FAR.
Good luck to all wishing they were outside enjoying their lives this weekend, our time is coming soon.August 31, 2019 at 2:31 pm #2668629
I am sad to admit I am so far behind until there is no reason for me to press for the 9th. I am yet willing to study for the next window though. I hate to have to repay, and I know some say just take it anyway, but the testing center is 2 -3 hours away for me to have to travel to fail. Since a no show is a fail, I'll just start again. I lose motivation and get distracted so easy. I don't know….I guess I need to quit paying for Ninja monthly and just get a one time fee test bank. I get so stuck with those mcq's and when I go back to the materials there is nothing there to help me through the questions. I don't like going to too many materials to find answers. This is where I am getting distracted or attracted to other materials. I don't know…..I'll be ok though. Just venting again. I'll take my book out on my deck and start again chapter by chapter and make myself read the book before I do any mcq's. I like the notes, maybe they are making me lazy with reading the book. I'd rather write the notes and listen to audio than read the book.August 31, 2019 at 3:42 pm #2668845
@Tncincy – I am there with you on being behind. I was just doing the movements to get through Becker Videos. After seeing what some people say they said do FAR first so — I am aiming to get through F1 and F2 by tomorrow. Finishing videos tonight. Exam early October. Get your focus back – we can do this together!!!
