Has anyone read the CPA Exam Blueprints on the AICPA website published in Feb? I am reading the FAR blue prints for my May retake and it makes it obvious how the exam will be formatted a lot different. More calculations for sure, which makes sense why they are shortening from 90 to 66 MCQ, but they also give some good insight on what type of SIMS you could experiences. I am assuming each exam will have 2-3 DRS’s, a few calculation SIMS and a research? You can clearly tell which questions will be MCQ’s (Understanding and Remembering) although there obviously will be calculations as well but the big tested areas seem to be the one’s they would test through a SIM. It’s more interesting then anything and I don’t think it changes the way I am attacking studying at all but it does put into perspective the areas to focus on taking what you learn and how to apply it through a SIM. Very interesting and informative IMO
