Hi future CPAs 🙂

Does anyone of you know if there is a limit on the number of times one may request extension from the state board. I have been denied extension twice on the fact that I haven’t made much progress however, I cleared REG this qtr. The reason of me requesting the extension is because I have been struggling in my personal life as my mother hasn’t been keeping well and has undergone a major surgery.

Please, if anyone has any idea on this, please respond to the topic.

Hi @Dev12, sorry to hear about your mother. I'm not sure if there is a limit, and if there was it would probably vary by state board. Doesn't hurt to ask again and explain your situation, as long as you are prepared for the answer they will most likely give.

Are you asking for NTS extensions? I believe it varies by State and when I applied with my State for an extension due to me tearing my ACL and needed surgery they told me it was a one time thing and they only did the extension after I sent in all the paperwork from my surgeon. Maybe try again and see if they will let you.

@chandler Thank you for reverting! Yes, I am going to try again! I hope they grant me extension this time. I just hope there is no upper limit or anything.

Also, looking at your scores, I am tempted to ask how you prepared for FAR. I am starting to study that 🙂

@Ruggercpa2b thank you for your reply, I should have mentioned that its my credit that is expiring. I have all the documents for my mothers surgery as well. May be I should try again.

Oh, they probably wont extend your credit since you still have the other 3 exams to pass. I think they have been more lenient with extensions if you are going to lose a score and have passed the other sections due to the timing of score release. You still need to pass the other 3 sections. If they were to give you a 3 month extension would you be able to pass all the remaining sections by then?

@ruggercpa2b yeah that's what I am concerned about I just have cleared 2 exams. I have 2 more to go. 🙁
