I’ve finished all the Gleim Study Units and am currently running 65-75 in their 20 question Quizzes. Scored 63.88 in the Comprehensive Exam Rehearsal. Trying to figure out what to do. I seem to be all over the place in what I know/don’t know. I’ll show weak on a section this quiz that I nailed the last few quizzes.
This is my last unpassed section and if I don’t pass it now then the new format kicks in.
Do I just keep hitting the MCQ’s over and over reviewing what I got wrong & why in between? Should I review some chapters or sections? I tried writing the summary core concept notes for a chapter last night. Not sure they are in-depth enough?

Gleim's mcq's are much harder than what I had on my exam so if you're scoring 65-75 that's pretty good. I'm averaging 70 after about 3800 attempts, but was over 80 with Ninja and Wiley. Most times when I would try doing an adaptive session I'd get my ass handed to me with all the crazy questions.

Have you completed all the tax sims? I purchased Gleim's test bank for my retake because I needed help with sims and my review courses (Roger & Ninja) don't have many good ones. I did all of them from SU 3-13 the max 3 times they allow.

This weekend I didn't do many mcq's. I reread Roger's book cover to cover and I feel it helped clear some things up. It was especially helpful for blaw and ethics since a lot of it is memorization and it will be fresh in my head for tomorrow. Good luck on your exam!

I did all the sims as I worked through the chapters. Fortunately, i have a good background for tax: MTax from 2004 (dating myself I know) plus 5 yrs in small public firm doing mostly individual, small business (S corp) taxes then 11 yrs at my current industry firm which was a P'ship. C Corp is about the only thing I don't know. I've even actually seen a Like Kind Exchange transaction happen. (Inherited Farm Property – 160 total acres, sold in 3 separate transactions, most sold to Walmart in Like Kind exch for property in another state.)

Just wish I had clear direction about where I'm weak. It almost seems to be just missing a detail in a question here or there.

I am taking REG on March 9th. If I did all the Ninja sims in the next 9 days along with review and more mcq, would that be sufficient?

Consistently scoring 65 on MCQ quizzes in Gleim and cannot seem to get above it. What in heavens name am I doing wrong? I didn't have this problem with the other 3 sections I don't think?

I took REG today and I guarantee you won't see anything on the exam harder than Gleim's questions. I actually think they're overkill and if you get too wrapped up in the details you can start to lose the big picture.

Of all the sections, I feel REG has the most straightforward mcq's and the hardest sims. Gleim did a good job preparing me for the sims this time, but I was still unsure on a few of them. Hopefully it was enough to pass, but you never know with this exam.

My advice is to practice using AL for the SIMs. If you get a SIM that isn't intended to be a research question, but the topic is unfamiliar (REG SIMs are famous for being out of left field), think to yourself “this is a research question to me” and jump into AL.

I spent a little time making a quick outline of IRC in excel. That helped me see how IRC works and will save you time on SIMs.
