    Hi All,

    This is my first post.

Just started with the process. Received a letter from California Board stating deficiency of 0.5 units of accounting after they evaluated my foreign credentials.

On going through the details they provided, I noticed they have considered the subject “Accountancy and Financial Management II” where in collected 5.0 units but have not considered “Accounts and Financial Management I” if they would have done might have fetched me 4.5 units.

if anybody can please suggest whether I should write a letter back to them (as I am told that should be the process) or I accept this and take up a course to make up for the deficiency

No real advice, but wow… .5 of a unit? Can't they just round to the nearest unit?

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

I sooo wish if they could have done that and now with the given situation of subject considered it is just adding to confusion on how should I proceed further

Sure, the UNA teamed up with CPAExcel and they offer 5 or 6 different classes. Here is a link: Wiley CPAexcel

The timing might be a bummer, but I'm assuming you already passed? If not, this will help you prepare. The grades are issued at the end of the semester so May or June I'm sure. It is essentially the CPA Excel review course with tests and quizzes that are graded. I think the price was $475 per course and that includes everything. I'm in California and they have the proper accreditation. If you do this, I thought Audit and BLAW were the easiest.

Have you tried calling the CBA? Maybe it was a mistake?

I did try to speak to someone at CBA but it sounded like it might back fire. The person on other end was saying if “financial management” name is there in the subject neither of the two can be counted.
