    Hi,
I took FAR on August 31 and passed with a score of 86. I had to begin studying for Regulation on September 12 but I feel like i have totally lost the motivation to study. I sit down to study everyday and just end up watching something on youtube or wasting time on something else. So, it is September 20 today and i still haven’t started on REG. I know passing FAR should have motivated me to study harder but i just dont know what to do and how to help myself.
Has anyone been through something like this?
Any advice will be highly appreciated.

Did you schedule REG already? Doing so will motivate you to start studying.

Whenever I start losing a little bit of hope or motivation I remember why I started. Remember we are all too involved now in this journey to give up. Keep going.

    BEC - 78
    AUD - 65, 87
    REG - 78
    FAR - 68, 76

    And I'm DONE!

    BEC - July 2016 → 78
    AUD - Sep 2016
    REG - Nov 2016
    FAR - Feb 2017

We all go through periods where we don't want to study lol. It's a daily battle for me. What has helped me stay motivated and focused is thinking about all of the things I want to do but can't because of the CPA exam. It's what drives me. So maybe reflect a little, think about why you're doing it, write it down, and put it somewhere you can see it when you sit down to study. It's ok to take a little break but maybe set a goal doing X questions or reading a chapter(or whatever metric you want to use) before you take a little you tube break. Just don't get carried away. Watch a video or whatever and then get back to it.

how did you stay motivated during FAR?

For my own curiosity b/c I'm preparing for a FAR retake and you seemed to have done well, what was your study plan for FAR?

@GeauxAwayCPA Thank you for the advice, I will try to implement it and will hope it works 🙂
In regards to FAR, it was the first CPA exam i took and i had heard a lot about how hard it is. So i guess the fear of failing is what motivated me.
The study plan i followed for FAR was that i didnt go through F1 thru F10 in the advised 1 to 10 order. I started with topics that were the hardest in my opinion and then moved on to the easier (or less harder) ones. I also spent the last week or so before the exam just focusing on governmental and not for profit accounting as it is highly tested.
    Hope this helps.

@Amreen that makes sense! Thanks for the info. I will definitely need to focus on Govt and NFP. I was not aware of how important it was last time but I scored weaker in both topics. Now I know and will definitely be giving it the respect it deserves! 🙂

Well good luck with your motivation. You don't want to be sitting at your chair/desk/table/whatever it may be forever so just buckle up, work hard/strategically like you did for FAR, and think about how good life will be after you aren't chained to your CPA studying! 🙂

Wish I knew- I think the only one that can really change that is you anyway. But I did that to but after too much rescheduling (3 times) I decided enough is enough and started really focusing on REG (only have one exam complete) because I need to pass these exams before that stupid 2017 update and my Roger review expires in Feb. So I pretty much am just trying to take less breaks and focus on what I completed.

That being said some stuff from FAR carry overs to BEC and AUD and they are way easier and even though you want to get the hard exams out of the way, REG and AUD you need a lot of attention to detail app.

You might just want to scrap REG and reschedule a different exam since you're not that far in. Otherwise just keep your eyes on the prize and have a positive mindset and outlook.

    AUD - 82
    BEC - 85
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - 80
