    Dear friends,
Please advise me on my FAR strategy.
I am about to start FAR preparation in a few weeks. For now I am trying to get as much information as possible to make my prep time sufficient.
I have Becker and it is advised to learn two unites per week and leave the last two weeks for review.
I am working full time plus commute for 2 hours round trip. I can manage to dedicate 25 hours of study per week. My plan is to spend four work days for skimming chapters practising skills lightly and writting notes. Then, on weekedns I am going to solve as many MCQ and SIMs as I can manage for those chapters learned plus a little bit from previous units.
What do you think about this plan? Is it doable? Thank you

Your strategy sounds about right, FAR is a beast. Becker is going to make you feel stupid, or at least it did for me. Keep pushing through it and the best thing to do is set your exam date as a goal then book it. I thought about changing my exam date multiple times and have a few meltdowns but if you set an attainable time frame, it will keep you motivated. Otherwise you will never feel ready for FAR. Going into my exam I didn't feel ready but trust the system and the effort you put in. Do every MC, every supplemental question, and if SIMs help you than do them as well. I did everything I could from my Becker course and it got me through.

@Justin, thank you a lot for your advice. How much time did it take you to get ready for FAR per day and in general? Did you listen to lectures or just went through books. Sorry for repetitive questions. I know that it has been discussed, but anxiety is overwhelming.

@irenez; I feel you fully. I am on FAR for my last one. I plan on cranking out MCQs like the apocalypse is coming and only doing 1,000 questions is the way to salvation lol.

    AUD - 75
    BEC - 76*(Expired), 77
    REG - 73, 83
FAR - All knowing Eye says so! (9/19)
Officially done. Time to be fabulous.

I may not be the best for advice in this category, I graduated later in life while working full time. Quit my full time job to study full time for the CPA. I accepted an offer at a Big4 firm starting about 3 months after I graduated so my entire summer has been studying (I'm using my CPA bonus to offset my unemployment. I spent around 2-3 weeks studying for FAR and had about 3 days for review. I listened to the lectures, did the MC, the skills practice, the SIMS, and every mock exam. To make matters worse, I scored consecutively worse scores on each mock exam (75, 73, 70) which is very demotivating. I've never left a single exam knowing if I passed or not, and FAR was no different. All up I put in around 160 – 170 hours according to the Becker time frames.

@Justin. thank you for sharing. Accounting is my second degree also taken later in life. As soon as summer ends I am done with classes while working full time. So i can relate your experience to my story. Yet, I am not able to stop my work for preparing for exams. With that being sad I guess I will stick to Becker plan of 5 weeks for course + 2 weeks for review though 5 weeks seem to be too little even though I have fresh understanding of concepts.

@CP_Abadie may all possible luck be with you. Thank you. How much time did you accumulate for FAR? Do lectures work for you?
