    Hi all,
been a while since i posted. Question for those experienced CPA. I have been working at my firm for a little over 2 years. I am just not too happy with the work anymore. I feel like I’m not progressing compared to people I started with. I didnt move into the role I was promised and I’m embarrassed seeing others moving up and yet I’m still at the bottom of the pole. My biggest concern is i have been focusing mainly on 1040s and few small corporate clients, I lack the knowledge in many aspect of corporate/federal taxation. I can barely make a journal entry. I also work a lot on international tax compliance such as 8865, 926 and some other foreign filing stuff. Not many companies I looked up are hiring someone solely working on those areas. Maybe I’m worrying too much? I just dont want to stay for tax season but I’m also worried about being fired at the new job since Im doing enough not to get fire now.. any tips?

You will not get fired at your next job for not knowing what to do. Most hiring managers have a 6 months to 1 year turn around time for their employees. Industry is all about networking and talking to everyone in the office. Try to have little chats or set up meetings to get to know what they do.
