AICPA to Increase Difficulty BEC?

So I heard a rumor this morning that the AICPA’s Board of Examiners have launched an inquiry into why BEC pass rates have increased to an all time high of 50% which the AICPA said does not allign with their expectations. They consider this massive improvement in BEC as an anomaly. Shouldnt the AICPA be happy that candidate are becoming more knowledgeable and enlightened ?

So if AICPA is not happy that people are passing, then what are the goals and objectives of the AICPA ? to fail candidates regardless of how well they do?

The AICPA should just chill because im still struggling to pass BEC and increasing the difficulty of BEC will add more troubles to this Journey.

Has any of you heard this rumors? Do you think more materials will be added in the future?

    REG -63│ 84!!
    BEC- 59│70│ 71 │78!
    AUD- 75!
    FAR- 87!

Yep I got the same information…. Looks like those that will take BEC later in the future are in for a tougher exam than those that past it recently.

    BEC Update

Hello again, CPA candidates. We are currently in the process of updating our CPA materials for the 2014 exam. As we always are this time of year, we are appreciative of all our customers who submitted comments and suggestions regarding the current edition. Our 2014 materials will reflect much of the feedback we received in 2013.

You may have noticed from the pass rates charts we post that BEC pass rates have recently been increasing.

While the pass rates on the other sections remain between 45% and 50%, the pass rate for BEC has been above 50% since 2012, when it increased by almost 13% in just one year. The AICPA's Board of Examiners has launched an inquiry into this anomaly. Based on their findings, we may see an increase in difficulty in the BEC section a few years down the road to realign BEC scores with the AICPA's expectations. What does this mean for you, the candidates? It's simple: Take BEC sooner rather than later! But don't panic – we do not expect anything regarding this issue to immediately impact the exam.

From what others have claimed, a CPA candidate's BEC is usually his/her lowest. This was certainly true in my case. BEC was also the most difficult section I've taken so far; I literally had to take an “educated guess” on a number of MCQs.

Is it possible that BEC is in fact too difficult, which results in a distortion of the way the exam is graded, which results in a larger number of candidates passing?

    REG - 93 (7/30/13)
    BEC - 90 (8/19/13)
    AUD - 98 (8/31/13)
    FAR - 84 (10/19/13)

I feel like everyone comes out of BEC feeling like they've been obliterated.

Ninja's were given extra gear and armor so they make it out alive, but for the rest… God bless their souls.
