    Hello Guys ,

Does the 18 month period start from the date of which the candidate sits for the exam or the score release date ?

I took an exam in Q2 and despite the delay in score release my count started from exam date not score release date. ( Alaska) On the contrary a friend of mine ( NY) count started from score release date.

Is it normal that each state has its own count start date

    AUD - NINJA in Training
    BEC - 80
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - NINJA in Training

Wasn't aware of that. I am a AK candidate and it is the test date. score release date doesn't make sense. IF it is true, it is unfair b/c they now have more time.

If you took test on 5/31, find out in Aug, you have 18 months from 5/31. If you use Aug as your 18 month countdown, you now have a few extra months

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 88
    FAR - 77
    REG - 77
If my score is 75, I did not study too much or too little!

It is not from score release date, its the date you took the exam. I'm pretty sure that is the rule for every state but you can always check with your state board to clarify.

On a more important note, you're telling me there are CPAs in Alaska? I'm dying to know how many, you guys must be within the first 10,000 licensed.

CA CPA - est. Dec 2016

    FAR - 80
    AUD - 82
    BEC - 80
    REG - 85

    ETHICS - 90
    EXPERIENCE - COMPLETE
Application for California license mailed 8/4/2016

The 18-month window for exam credit starts the day you took your exam. This is across the board for all states. All candidates have the same amount of time to pass their sections. You could have been taking other parts of the exam while waiting for your score to be released. But, you can always contact your State Board of Accountancy and request an extension of examination credit. The state board is the only entity that has the authority to extend/reinstate exam credit.
