Any auditors in here that work on employee benefit plan audits? What types of analytical procedures do you use for plan distributions? Obviously, average payments is all but guaranteed to not be comparable from year to year, just wondering what is a good way to evaluate this? I found that calculating the z-scores of the distributions, then taking the median z-score can be comparable year to year, just wondering what other people look for.

    FAR - 75
    AUD - 72; 87
    REG - 64; 74; 84
    BEC - 88

Do you do this instead of vouching the payment support?

We do not do analytical procedures on distributions.

No, we're looking at analytical procedures in addition to doing that.

That is interesting. I have seen that auditing can vary depending on firm. I will look more into it.
