I failed AUD three times with Becker finally. The first two times I feel these questions pretty similar to Becker. But the recent exam, I saw so many questions I never seen in Becker. My scores 1st 60,2nd 59 and 70. I am trying to switch my review material to Wiley test bank. If anyone has suggestions on AUD, please help me out. Thanks everyone.

I failed audit twice using just Becker (65 and 70). I then added Ninja Audio, Notes and MCQ's, which boosted my score 18 points. I recommend getting all three. I would listen to the audio once a day, and rewrote the notes four or five times leading up to the exam. Then I used the Becker test bank and the Ninja MCQ test bank. I kept track of how many questions I did in each section, how many I got right/wrong so I could easily see where my weak areas were. I also made sure I knew exactly why it was one answer over the other. THen during my exam I made sure I really read each question and answer very carefully. I go fast on exams and I feel like the first two times I would read part of the quesiton and jump to the answer, without reading everything in the question and answers.

I would suggest getting some additional review materials as well as the Wiley test bank – whether it's Wiley book or NINJA Blitz or something. Practice questions are good, but it sounds like learning the concepts from another angle might help you out too.

I would suggest putting more hours into it and changing your study approach.

Are your weakest areas repeating themselves? When you get your score review, are the same areas continually showing as weaker? If so, then you know the areas you need to hit hard, too.

NINJA MCQ is great and cheap!

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
    AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
    BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!

I am currently studying for AUD (second attempt). I am also using Becker. Would you say you did better in the MCQ or SIMs when came down to exams? I scored a 73 and was strong or comparable in most areas for MCQ and weak in the SIMs. I didn't give myself enough study time with the simulations so I think that hurt me significantly.

snowwing, I am about to begin studying for AUD using Becker. Could you elaborate as to how you used the material, your scores on MCQ, sims, practice exams as well as hours spent?

@cbones1979 The first time I took the exam, I went over the lecture one time, skimmed the book one time and only worked on MQS. I felt the exam questions were not hard at all, I may misunderstand some important concepts which caused me failed. The second time, I reviewed the book and did the MQS again and skimmed the simulation practices only. I felt the simulations in the exams were hard and I didn't practice on or paid a lot of attention. The last time which was in Aug, I reviewed the book again and redid the MQS and simulations. This time I felt the MQS were hard and focused on different fields totally. But I am not giving up and I think I am approaching and will nail it down next time!!!

I will let you know after NOV 30,but thus far, I think Roger CPA is the father of the Audit exam. I remember when I studied for the CPA exam about 7 years ago using Becker. I pretty much had to memorize everything and did not understand a thing. I ended up with a 74 back when the exam was 70% MC questions. Now with Roger this time around, I have only completed 60% of the material, and for this first time in my life, I think I understand Audit. Even if I fail the exam on Nov 30, I still think Roger is for Audit, what Messi is for soccer.

@snow – When did you take your AUD exams? Besides AUD being tricky anyway, it went through a major content change last year. If you are using any materials that were issued pre-Clarity Project, that might be part of your problem. I would highly recommend getting updated materials if you don't already have them – and get the Ninja test bank if you can. I used it for FAR and it definitely helped me pass. 🙂

taxgeek83, thanks for reminding me. I used most recent updated Becker material. Even though I felt the first two tablet were not familiar, I am approaching to 75 last time. Yes, I will definitely add Ninja or Wiley.
