    Hello fellow A71’ers,

I have an audit exam coming up on March 6. My original plan was to give this 1.5 months to study but I got staffed on a traveling assignment and a few other personal things got in the way and I am still on Ch. 3. I am using Becker to study. I took a college course on Audit (did pretty well) and also had an audit internship. I have found that watching the video lectures with whatever little time I have will not be efficient so I skipped those and moved to taking notes from the e-book before proceeding to MCQs. Even then I feel like it’s taking me a long time to get through all the MCQ’s (I have been attempting all of them so far). Any suggestions on how I can make the best of my remaining time, and cover as much as possible with at least the weekend before to review? Is this even doable?

    Thanks in advance!

I also found out that Ch. 4 is beast. Now I am really starting to question if this is doable at all. Any inputs will be appreciated.

It's doable. Skipping the videos is smart. One tip would be to memorize the unmodified audit opinion letter. Also, knowing the differences between preparation, compilation, etc. Also, government stuff can sneak in there.

I skipped the lectures half way then did multiple choices for 2 weeks. I have couple of years of audit experience, and I was able to land a 75. My 0.02 cents, save time for SIMS and use AL for all of them!

Luckly chapter 5 and 6 are easy. It is chapter 4 that you have to worry about a little. I would say read with concentration and do all the multiple choice questions that you can and you will know if you r not ready.

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate your responses. I guess I'll spend more time on Ch. 4 since it is relatively tough and will familiarize myself with the use of AL for SIMs.

Yes, Chapter 4 transaction cycles suck but I honestly think Chapter 2 is a bigger pain in the ass. All the nuances of modifying the report and adding EOM and OM paragraphs and dealing with supplementary info, summary financials, single statement audits, interim audits, etc is enough to drive you mad

I studied AUD for 12 days while working fulltime. My approach was to thoroughly go through and understand concepts rather than spending too much time on mcq or sims. I thought if I knew the materials, I should be able to solve the problems.

I used Roger and I watched all the video lectures while taking good notes. For 11 days, I only studied on concepts without solving problems. Last day was the only day I tried some mcqs. I did about 10qs per chapter, I ended up trying 100 questions in total.

My approach may not work for everybody, probably for many people, because all my coworkers studying for CPA think I am crazy.

    But hey, I passed, so..

Working full-time and taking all 4 parts in one window.

If I can do it, you all can too.
