AUD Q1 vs. Q2

    Hello all,

For those that took AUD in Q1 and did not pass, how are you re-studying? My score report indicated I was stronger on MCQ and weaker on SIMS (unfortunately received a 69).

Is the material really that much different when comparing Q1 vs. Q2? Does anyone know what was added or removed content wise? Becker did not provide a mapping file between the old and new course, so I am wondering if it is really worth going through everything all over again. Yes, I am going to focus on SIMS more this go around, but knowing what changed would be a nice starting point.

    Thanks!

I am in the same boat as you. Failed with a 74 and scored comparable or stronger on MCQ's and weaker on sims. The new Becker textbook looks thicker which was overwhelming at first, and I didn't know where to start considering there was no comparison between the old and new textbook. While I haven't gotten through all the materials, I will say this: the material is not any different than before but I do feel some concepts have been explained in more detail. It looks like the content within the chapters has been restructured and the practice MCQ's are harder this time around. The only reason I decided to study everything all over again is because I have a major FOMO and didn't want that ONE piece of detail left out in Q1 tested over in Q2 and losing a point over it.

I feel the same way! It doesn't seem like the most efficient way to study, but there's nothing we can really do I guess. Oh well.

If you stumble across anything different in the material, be sure to post here. I will do the same. I'm sure there are others in the same situation – so this thread could be beneficial to all. Best of luck!

I'm also in the same boat. Failed AUD with a 73 in Q1 bc I screwed up on Sims. I'm going to start studying tomorrow and am starting from scratch with the new book and software. This is my 3rd attempt at AUD and it is very frustrating to go through everything again. But, it really should just be a lighter review since I've seen this material many times. Also, I hope Angie Brown does not teach any chapters of AUD for the new material.

Goodluck and I feel your pain. Let's pass this exam, so we can move on! I passed FAR and BEC on my first try, but this exam has hung me up bc it is very conceptual, rather than being quantitative.

    Hello,

I'm in the same boat (failing AUD with a 74, weaker on MCQ, comparable Sims). I retook the exam last Thursday. I believe material-wise, they are very similar. I compared my notes on the review using Becker program old and new format, the materials are nearly identical.

Exam-wise, I have a feeling MCQ become easier because they are 36 x 2, instead of 30 x 3. The sims seems to be more specific to one area for each question, instead of asking multiple areas in 1 question like before.

All in all, good luck with the exam… I have 4 months until the scores are released… it's freaking ridiculous.

Hoping you passed! So as far as notes go, there weren't any major changes which is good to hear. I am going to leverage my notes from Q1 and just go through the material as quickly as possible. And yes… the 4 month wait is absurd. The site is 100% going to crash in August.

Add one more person in the same boat (Made a 74 in Q1, weaker on MCQ and comparable on SIMS). Because there has been nearly no change in content, I've gone back through Becker using the 2016 version, since I was more familiar with it. Now I'm just trying to get through as many Ninja MCQ as I can, as well as work out all of the Ninja SIMS. Also will probably review the Ninja Notes as well as go back through the Becker chapters I'm weaker on.

I had a similar situation with REG, and did the process above. Score went from a 67 to a 77, so I think it will work for AUD as well. I'd say its a safe bet to place a bit more emphasis on truly understanding the material, since there will be more application-based work with the new layout.

    Best of luck to y'all!

Sadly I also failed with a 74 (performing weaker on the SIMS while stronger and comparable on MCQ). I'm trying to go over everything again, which is extremely annoying since I still remember everything so I don't feel like it's doing much good. Though I will say that I'm a fan of the new Beckers format. It delves into greater details and really breaks down the topics for you. I know if I had switched to it while studying for my last Audit exam I would have passed. Though I know the new format would have helped me on the last version of the exam I'm not entirely sure it'll be enough to push me up to the 75 mark with this new version so I'll be throwing Ninja MCQ into my study mix.

Oh wow! I thought I am the only one who received a 74 in audit but it seems now more than those who passed! I scored a 74 last window (Stronger in MCQ, Weaker in sims) and I am using Becker. Well, I went through all the new materials and it's almost the same. From what I remember the old version had covered ISA in many aspects such as professional responsibilities but the new version does not have anything related to it. On the other hand, there is detailed coverage related to Report 1 and 2 (outsourcing payroll for example)
What I am doing right now is reviewing everything in the new Becker software and considering to buy Gleim's review for their sims as I learned from many here that Gleim has the best sims to practice. So, my advise to all of us is that we should all take our knowledge of most of the materials as an advantage to pass in this window since we are not studying from scratch so we have more chance to cover additional stuff and details in audit that others may not have time to it or not aware of it.

Bump. Has anyone stumbled across anything yet? I personally have not found anything as of yet and I sit in 2 weeks. Finishing up the final chapter this weekend then review mode. Best of luck to those studying this window.
