Which of the following combinations results in a decrease in sample size in a sample for attributes?

    Risk of Assessing Expected Population
Control Risk Too Low Tolerable Rate Deviation Rule
    A Increase Decrease Increase
    B Decrease Increase Decrease
    C Increase Increase Decrease
    D Increase Increase Increase
    The correct answer is: C
    Explanation:
The answer is “c”. Allowed Risk of Assessing Control Risk Too Low results in a decrease in sample size. A higher Expected Tolerable Rate results in a decrease in sample size. A higher Population Deviation Rate results in a decrease in sample size.

I doubt my copying and pasting rendered correctly but I am mainly asking about the last sentence in the answer explanation. I thought that if the expected population deviation rate is higher, it leads to an increase in sample size.

Risk of assessing cr too low = inverse relationship

    Tolerable rate=inverse

    Exp. Dev pop rate=direct

So what would cause/result in the sample to decrease?

*increase in risk of cr too low
    *increase in tolerable rate
    *decrease in dev.

You are right in your thinking, maybe just read the question wrong?

I definitely read the question wrong and was thrown off even further by the answer explanation, which I think is wrong re: population deviation rate. Thanks!
