AUD Simulations

I just received a failing score for FAR, and I know it was because I underprepared for simulations. I get so intimidated by simulations that I get sidetracked and overthink when I attempt them. I am studying for AUD now and I really want to pass this exam.

I was wondering, does anyone have any advice to help on how they conquered AUD sims? I am using Becker and Ninja CPA review but I considered buying Gleim for simulations.

Look at all of the Becker Skill master videos you can (not the Skillbuilders, the Skillmasters where a becker instructor takes you through the SIM from start to finish). They have a video for most, if not all of the Sims in their test bank. I didn't practice that many sims but I watched a bunch of these videos and they helped.

I can definitely relate that the SIM's do seem very daunting at first, especially ones with multiple attachments, schedules, memos, etc. However, if you really just take a breath and read carefully, most of them are actually quite logical. My best advise would be to tackle each simulation in pieces and try not to get overwhelmed by the amount of information you are given. Try to think of it this way, the simulations are not much different from the multiple choice questions. Instead of clicking the right answer from the given options, you are simply typing it out. It's basically impossible to predict what simulations you will get on exam day, so simply mastering the concepts is key. Try to focus on understanding the material in your review course, and then practice doing MCQ's on as many different topics as you can (also mixing in a few practice SIM's just to get comfortable with the format). The truth is, you could spend the time practicing a bunch of SIM's and end up not getting tested on any of those topics on exam day. I hope this is helpful, as it is what has worked for me so far. Good luck!
