Hello friends…AUD exam this Friday (Sep 8). I was feeling pretty unprepared for this exam in comparison to how I felt going into BEC and FAR (if it’s even possible to feel confident going into FAR)…but I took the Gleim Exam Rehearsal last night and my weighted score was 80%.

    1) Has anyone ever done well on the Exam Rehearsal and still failed the exam? I’m trying to gauge if this was just a fluke or if I’m actually in decent shape.

    2) What recommendations do you have between now and Friday?

    AUD: 81

    FAR: 91

    REG: 74, 85

    BEC: 87

I scored 84 average on the Gleim rehearsal for AUD that I took this past Friday. I'm taking AUD this Friday as well. We are in the same boat, so I can't really offer a comparison between Gleim and actual but I'll share with you what I'm doing to prepare.

I've gone back and reviewed all the suggested chapters in the software including taking more MCQs and TBS for those chapters. I have taken the practice AUD exam on the AICPA's website (can't do any harm). Then I've been skimming chapters and taking MCQ after MCQ in the Gleim test bank to stay fresh. I've done several hundred with an 80 overall average. At this point, I feel prepared enough to pass.

I'm also interested in knowing if anyone has experienced a drastic difference between the Gleim rehearsal and the actual exam.

Thanks for sharing and best of luck to you this Friday. Our approach seems similar…cycling through MCQ and diving into the book to review concepts when I identify a gap in my knowledge.

Here's my history for other exams. I scored a 71& on my FAR exam rehearsal and scored a 91 on the actual exam, but I also took the exam rehearsal almost 2 weeks ahead of the actual exam and spent a TON of time reviewing in between. I took the REG exam rehearsal about 1 week before my first attempt and scored a 73%. I was hoping the real thing would go better, but I ended up getting a 74. AUD definitely has a different feel to it than those exams because you're not learning calculations, journal entries, or tax forms, but you're learning standards, controls, and assertions that are easy to mix up.

    AUD: 81

    FAR: 91

    REG: 74, 85

    BEC: 87

I'm using Gleim, but I only took the exam rehearsal for FAR and REG. FAR I got an 80 on the rehearsal and an 86 on the actual exam (a week of review in between, but nothing super intense). REG I got a 65 on the rehearsal and it totally freaked me out so I reviewed really hard and felt great after I took the exam so we'll see come the 19th!

I've done a little research through A71 finding people comparing exam rehearsals vs. actual scores, and the majority of the time when people use their review time to truly review, their actual score will come in higher than the rehearsal.

I would say you are well prepared, but still make sure to use the rest of your time to review! I'm taking AUD on Friday too so hopefully we can both walk away with a pass!
