BEC – Cost Accounting…

So, everything was going relatively smooth in Chapter 1 using Becker for BEC – Corporate governance, I/C, ERM, Sox, etc. Then, came good ol’ Cost Accounting! I did reasonably well and scored slightly above 70%, but what a pain in the *ss! Super time consuming and Becker has some ridiculous MCQ’s that I would expect to never see on the Exam – unless they were some type of Sim starting in Q2 of 2017.

Do the next chapters become easier and less time consuming?? Cost Accounting is the only subject that has me nervous about BEC. I just remember Cost Accy being quite a bit harder than my Econs, Finance, Operations MGMT, Strategic Management, and Information System classes. Thanks!

My test is tomorrow and I think they are all a doozy. Chapters 2 and 3 are pretty labor intensive. But investing time into those will pay off at exam time, I think!

Chapter 2 and 3 are time consuming. I would spend a little more time on chapter 2 and 3 because there are a lot of long calculations.

If you focus more on B1-B3 in depth, B4-B6 will be a breeze. Its the hardest part! Keep pushing!

I'm using Rogers and Cost Accounting killed me. So many complex calculation problems. There is no way we can do that in minute and half like he suggests per multiple choice questions.

@cpa1982 oh yes you can! I am averaging a minute per question. The trick is to know your conceptual stuff so that it takes you seconds not minutes, then you will also have time for longer calcs…But even those, with practice, don't take all that long….

    anyatver,

Even if you know concepts well, some calculations will take longer than minute. Theortical questions don't take much time. In some questions, description is 5-6 lines long and plus whole table.

I agree with cpa1982 ^ Some of the MCQ's seem like a Simulation!!
