So I took BEC today and here is my experience. The first testlet was pretty easy…the second testlet was harder for me…Lastly, the written communication was eh. I only knew one of the topics asked and for the ones I didn’t I made up some answers throwing in the keywords given in the prompt. Hopefully this is the last exam I ever have to take.

Thanks for sharing your experience! How much time did you have/take for the WC? Did you practice for them at all?

I used Becker. I practiced a few WC before my exam but I just never felt great about that portion of the test because I don't think I am that good at writing. Also, I sucked at BSing answers. I had about an hour left for the WC, and I finished with like 30 seconds left just because it was hard for me to come up with ideas on topics I had no idea on.

@jewfromaxxi – my BEC exam in Q2 was very similar to yours. You probably passed. Even if you didn't know how to “answer” the WC prompts, as long as you put the responses in a well structured manner, there shouldn't be any issue.

Did you feel like Becker adequately prepared you for the IT questions? I've completed the lectures and feel good about most everything except IT. Taking BEC July 19th.

@Hannah – I felt very prepared for BEC using Becker except for the IT portion, but as long as you go through the material, you should be fine on the actual exam. Several of the IT questions I got on mine could have been pre-test questions so who knows? Just trust the process. I highly doubt you'll do bad based on your passing scores on other sections.

IT is a crap shoot. A few questions were over things never covered in Becker. Some IT questions you could bring it down to 2 choices even if you didn't know answer at all. I don't know how to explain it but sometimes the answer choices you know can't be right. I felt really good about everything else except IT. I felt iffy on COSO. I am just annoyed that I got little to no econ. I felt like every other mcq was either coso or IT in my 2nd testlet.

I took BEC yesterday and walked away feeling terrible. Feeling a little better today but totally drained. I felt very good going in and knew the Becker book very well. My exam had much more IT questions than either of the two mock exams I took. I felt completely lost on many of the IT questions, so I don't believe Becker's IT section was the strongest. I was completely lost on one SIM on a Cost Accounting topic which I believe I was very strong on (and was strong on in school). I feel like I bombed that SIM. The other three SIMS seemed decent, but as someone mentioned WAY overloaded with data. I had 55 minutes left for the WC–only on one I felt like I could write intelligently on the material. The other two were intelligent ramblings. One of them was IT-related.

This was certainly the toughest of the 4 in my opinion, and I've felt worse after this exam than the other three. I feel like there was quite a bit of topics and questions in there that I was lost on and not as effectively covered by Becker at least compared to the other three exams and in light of my learning style.

Took BEC Tuesday It was really long compared to the other 2 tests I've taken. I flew through FAR (2hr20min) and AUD (2hr35min), but spent 3h30min on BEC. I don't think anything was particularly difficult. SIMs were significantly wordier than the SIMs I saw on FAR and AUD. Was really surprised by how much information had to be sifted through to answer some of the the SIMs. Took my time on the WC. Spent about 25min on each one.

Just took BEC today and wow was I under prepared for IT with Becker. 1st wrestler was more calc based but the second wrestler was close to 20 IT and coso questions. Sims were more logic than calc based and I had one with a JE. WC were tough as they were unique. I knew 1 well, the other 2 partially but I don't know if I used the buzzwords.

I took BEC yesterday and it did not go well. BEC is not easy. This was the hardest exam I've taken so far (I passed FAR and REG on my 1st attempt). I studied 30 hours a week for 8 weeks, did about 2000 MCQ (Wiley and NINJA combined) and all the TBS in the wiley test bank, but I left the center feeling sad and upset. 70% of the 1st teslet and 50% of the 2nd testlet was calculation questions and both testlets were Cost accounting heavy. I did not expect to see so many questions on Cost accounting. Some of them I knew and some I didn't and had to guess. I got some IT questions but they weren't too bad. ECON and Finance which I love were not tested as much as I would have liked. I spent about 55 minutes on the 1st testlet. Yes 55. Only 7 out of the 31 MCQS were not calculation. Testlet 2 did not get harder and it took me about 40 minutes to complete.

Do you think Ninja MC are helpful, or should I just stick with Becker. I am trending lower in Ninja MC for BEC. My exam is coming up on Aug 6. I am terrified of this BEC. I hate all the topics!!
