Is anyone using Becker to prepare for BEC and experiencing low scores on the quizzes?
I’m only on B2 and mostly getting 70s and few 80s but I’m getting high 50s and low 60s on some of the quizzes. The calculations are really hard and difficult to understand the concept behind the calculations. I am currently just reading the chapters, skipping Skills Practice portion and doing MCQS.

I have my exam on 6/9 and I really need to pass this portion. Thinking about giving up on Becker and just using NINJA for MCQs and using Becker for SIMS and Mock Exam. What do you guys think?

Im doing the same, and my exam is on the 8th. Ive been doing the computational MCQ's open book just so I get the hang of using the formulas. I think you'll be ready if you just push through.

Just keep grinding. BEC was very difficult for me to pin down as well. Just review review review and the calculations will start to click, enough to pass anyway

    REG - 92 (1/17)

    BEC - 82 (2/17)

    AUD - 89 (5/17)

    FAR - 94 (9/17)

Rogers Elite + Becker mcqs/sims for all 4 exams

    WA State Ethics Exam - 83, 83, 90 (9/17)

    AICPA Ethics Exam - 95 (9/17)

    1-year of work - complete (11/18)

    Licensed WA State CPA

I am in the exact same boat as you, using Becker and taking it on June 9th. I agree it is a lot but I am just pushing forward and hoping it starts to all make sense.

I am having the same issue, doing terrible on the MCQs for most modules (60%-70%). This is somewhat worrisome because, for previous exams my MCQ scores were much higher.

Having used Becker for the previous 3 exams, (Passed: FAR & AUD, Waiting on score release: REG) I am trusting the process and following the same study plan as the prior exams. Write the MCQ explanation for each question I got wrong and understand why the other answer choices are incorrect. Consequently, I am doing much better on progress tests than I did on the individual module quizzes.

I have BEC scheduled on 6/4! Good luck to everyone else taking it this quarter.

    F – 91
    A – 88
    R – ??
    B – 6/4

    @CPAoneday,

do you take a screenshot of the question you got incorrect and write the explanation in Word/Excel or another way?

Keep at it – you have plenty of time and you'll continue to get better. Get through your Becker course, do the AICPA practice exam, and keep pounding the MCQ's. BEC has the highest pass rate which helps. Make sure you know how to do the proper written communication format and use key words. Know variance analysis – that is most likely what got me over the edge.

Becker BEC MCQs are lengthy and involve multi-step calculations (i.e. when you have to find the total equivalent cost under FIFO method) just like Becker FAR MCQs. I say don't change the course but get through all the material, and trust the process!
