    Some of the IT topics covered in BEC are foreign to me. Also, it seems like most of the information is brute Memorization, which is nice. Can someone help me narrow down which subtopics I should focus more intensely on? I am hitting the entire IT section HARD, since I hear it is heavily tested. But, I am trying to narrow the subsections down a little more. Thanks!

    I work in IT, and honestly I think that's what helped me squeak by in BEC without putting as much effort towards it as the other exams. I would focus on the following:

    COBIT
    Disaster Recovery
    Roles of IT personnel and SEGREGATION OF DUTIES (important!)
    Input and Origination Controls (Hash totals, check digits, etc)
    E-Commerce Applications (EDI, EFT, etc)
    Hardware (Focus on CPU, RAM, ALU)
    and honestly anything related to control that I haven't mentioned here

    Also, some of the IT concepts carry over from AUD. Good luck!

    AUD - 81, Wiley

    BEC - 77, Wiley

    FAR - 76, Ninja

    REG - 69, Wiley, 70, Wiley, 88, Wiley/Ninja MCQ

    @Christopher

    When you say SEGREGATION OF DUTIES, are you talking about the COPAL nemonic? Becker does not cover the SEG DUTIES very well in the book. Thanks!

    Bump. The IT section is Not very challenging, but some of the terminology is foreign. Should I simply memorize most of the terms that are foreign to me? I'm making a document with all of the terms that are foreign. It will be about 4-5 pages with 50-60 definitions, so I can simply review it the day before my exam. Am I doing too much or is this a good strategy? Thanks guys.
