Based on my two last attempts with BEC 2017 Q1 and Q3, I truly believe that the only way you can prepare for IT questions is to know a lot of IT terms. For starter, ‘glossary' from any latest textbooks on IT, Computer Science, MIS and most Business Computer related courses, can be good sources.
If you have a minimum of 3-5 years old Becker's textbooks (BEC and AUD) you'll be fine. But don't be surprised if there are IT terms that you'll see during the exam that any CPA review service providers weren't included on their textbooks.
@Jeff (@Another71-Ninja) and other CPA reviewers give out latest updates/changes each year. Thus, even if your textbook is a few years older, you'll be fine, with the exception of IT of course. You'll likely need to do additional research and add new terms from other related sources to your IT vocabulary.
During the exam, even with my decent IT vocabulary, I still encountered a few IT terms that I never heard before. In this case, I had no choice but to use the ‘process of elimination' & using ‘educated guesses', just to answer this type of questions.
The nice thing about the new BEC Q3, it's doable as to ‘time management'. Good luck.
