    Hello Everyone,

I just took BEC and feel completely drained by the exam. I’ve taken AUD (90) and FAR (87) so far and didn’t feel this bad leaving those exams. Today I wanted to cry leaving BEC. The thought of just leaving in the middle of the exam definitely crossed my mind as I found it to be so challenging. I used Wiley and Ninja MCQ to prepare for the exam. However, I didn’t score very high on Wiley mock exam (71 and 80), which crushed my confidence. AUD and FAR mock exams were pretty close to my actual scores, so seeing 71 on BEC mock exam was devastating. I just felt like no matter how much I studied, there was still so much new material in the MCQ that I was practicing.

My actual exam experience was horrible compared to AUD and FAR. I marked about 5 MCQ in the first testlet and 8 MCQ testlet. I ended up either blindly guessing them, making educated guesses, or figuring out the answer (hopefully, it was the correct answer). The second testlet was slightly more difficult than the first testlet. Overall, I think I did OK on the MCQ. Simulations were horrible. Too many calculations and attachments. I already know I made some stupid mistakes on some of them. Overall, I feel like I did slightly worse on them than I did in MCQ. I completed all of the writing assignments, but I wouldn’t give myself 100% on those, probably 75% if I was grading myself.

Did anyone have similar experience? If so, what did you end up getting? If you took BEC during Q4 2019, what was your experience like? I can’t believe I’ll have to wait for four week to find out my score!!! My hope for an early release because the last early release happened when they also had almost two weeks between the last day of the grading period and the score release day. Usually they grade them in one week or so. On the other hand, I’m afraid to check my score. Thank you for reading my post.

if the 10% was worded “Market Premium”, the answer would be 16.5 (D?)

    4 + 1.25(10)

    FAR - 80 (4/1/2019)

    BEC - 82 (9/7/2019)

    AUD - 81 (11/23/2019)

    REG - 94 (3/9/2020)

    Hello Everyone,

I’d like to thank all of you for kind words of support.

    @monikernc
, I definitely agree with you that it’s better to schedule the exams close to the score release day. However, my goal is to finish before the start of the busy season in January. I was doing full time work and full time school up until June of this year (started back in August 2014. Finished the bachelor’s first, then took a “break” for busy season, then did master’s in 10 months with another busy season). I was too ambitious and wanted to get done with studying by the end of this year. I really wanted to have next summer off as I haven’t had a vacation or summer off since 2014. However, my work has gotten really busy in the fall. Hence, I was dealing with a lot of stress at work while trying to prepare for this exam. I definitely wasn’t just stressed but suffered from anxiety.

I know I could’ve done a better job preparing for this test, but it’s my fault for misjudging my schedule. I thought I could push through, but my nerves couldn’t handle the pressure anymore.

I probably spent 150 hours studying for BEC and didn’t feel like it was enough. Wiley lectures are so long for BEC. Specifically, the IT material. I believe it’s about 30 hours more than the material for REG! I didn’t find this course to be as useful for BEC as it was for AUD and FAR.

You guys are absolutely right. It is what it is. “Luckily,” it’s still really busy at work, so my mind will be mostly occupied with work thoughts while I wait for the score. In a couple of weeks, I’ll start preparing for REG. Meanwhile, I’ll have nightmares about the exam lol. I woke up last night at 1am with my heart racing because I remembered that I mixed up supply and demand curves since I was rushing through the sims. I missed out on easy points :(.

I had to give up my gym routine in the last month or so because I didn’t have enough time in the day to do everything once it got busy at work. I realize that gym has a huge impact on our well-being. I absolutely regret my choice because I believe it had a huge negative impact on my emotional health.

@kmont003, yes, I finished all three WCs. However, I was rushing. I only had 27 minutes when I got to the last testlet. I knew I had only 9 minutes for each writing assignment. I also knew people said these were easy points, so I just collected my thoughts and wrote as much as I could finishing with 5 seconds left on the clock. My plan was to leave 1 hour on the writing assignments. But the MCQ and sims were all pretty time-consuming:(.

@amber I got those same questions on my sims. That sim took me longer than any other. It was so bad.

I had a variance table but did not have the others. The other one I remember had to do with doing SWOT analysis. The last two I just picked answers that seemed right quickly because I had 38 minutes with 2 sims and the 3 writing still left.

How did things turn out for those of you who took BEC? I took it on 9/10 and had a similar experience….actually walked out of the exam half way through. Somehow pulled a 67 without doing 2 sims or the writing….bad move on my part. I'm retaking it tomorrow and am starting to worry a bit.

    Hello @1skibum,

I feel much better about it now – I passed BEC with an 86. I believe two things are important to keep in mind for this exam (1) If you feel like walking out in the middle of the exam, don’t do it. Try to collect your thoughts and continue doing your best. Don’t let the stress making you feel overwhelmed. (2) Make sure you complete the writing portion of the exam because it’s definitely easy points. I believe they help most of us pass. I only had 27 minutes left for writing assignments when I planned to have 1 hour. All of a sudden, I got my strength back and I told myself I’d continue to fight and finish these writing assignments on time. I didn’t have time to proofread as I figured I only had 9 minutes per assignment. I also don’t type super fast, and English isn’t my native language. I just kept my sentences short and followed the order that they recommend. My content was pretty much everything what I remembered from studying for BEC. I didn’t have time to think whether I was actually covering everything that they were asking in the questions.

    Good luck!!!

I can mirror your thoughts on the exam. I passed it in 2016 without studying, this time around I studied quite a bit and it was brutal. I normally finish with about an hour left and on this one I had 1 min left after rushing through the written questions. At this point all I can do is wait and see….it’s my last so I hope i passed!

Took BEC today, and have only one question…

Where the heck did that come from?! Not sure what I did wrong but pretty sure I failed. Brutal, and way harder than I expected.

Took FAR early this year, and wanted to cry when I walked out – ended up passing.

Took REG this summer, and only got to complete 4 sections with an hour plus to go on the clock (don’t ask). Walked out angry and feeling crushed – ended up passing.

My only hope is that this correlation between feeling crushed and passing continues! Really seems to be a theme for so many others as well. Fingers crossed!

I don't feel like flagging 5 and 8 questions results in a bad score… On all four exams, I usually flag or don't know the answer to at least 6 or 7 on each testlet. Good luck! I just took BEC as well.

I felt the same exact way. Felt pretty prepared and confident, and halfway through I was wondering if I had sat for the right exam lol. So many out there questions that I don't think even studying more I would have anticipated.

I passed BEC with one shot in 2016 and let it expired for whatever reason.

Took another exam yesterday didn't feel too many difference to be honest. Still those topics such as COSO framework, cost accounting which I ALWAYS hate, IT and basic econ concepts.

One thing I really enjoy about BEC is the fact you can type.

I kinda have a high bar about keyboard clicking noise. But sometimes I do get distracted when other people type.

Now it's my turn to crash the keyboard.

PSA. Wiley MCQs are way too advance. If you are using becker materials and found it doesn't cover too many IT terms you are fine. I am ok with topic like cloud, but blockchain? Give a me break.

I’m so surprised that i got the same question (even in 2020) and i recalculated and recalculated and still ended up with 11.50 which was not on the choice! I thought that i missed something when i memorized the formula?!?!
