BEC testlet #2 was hard, #3 felt medium. Bad sign? I feel I crushed #1 & #3

On FAR & REG, I felt I had med-hard-hard. Basically, 85% correct on the first teslet, then 75% on the next two.

For BEC, which I just took it felt like med-hard-med. With 90%, 70%, and 85%. What is odd is some people feel like they get an easy one at the end and score out to a 90. I’m discounting my performance a lot due to the feeling of that last testlet.

In sum, I feel I crushed testlet 1 & 3, and did pretty well on the sims (finished both with answers I wouldn’t have changed otherwise).

Any “crystal ball” score projections? I’m feeling maybe an 82, but I guess a 90 or 71 could show it’s head. BEC is an odd beast.

My BEC testels never got harder. Feels like I had all medium ones. I wouldn't over think it. maybe it wasn't hard cuz you know the material well.

    BEC - 77
    FAR - 75
    REG - 82

For both of my BEC attempts, I felt the testlets were medium-hard-medium, as a matter of fact, the second time I took BEC I felt the testlets were hard-hard-medium lol even though I know that’s not possible. It probably isn’t too comforting because both of my attempts were around the 75 mark, but I feel like with BEC you just never know… first time I took it, I felt like I passed and I ended up failing… second time I took it, I was positive I failed and I ended up passing?!? Hope it works out for you!

    BEC - 74, 79

    AUD - 82

    REG - 68, 80

    FAR - 79

I read on AICPA's FAQ that it IS possible to pass with three medium testlets. I'm almost positive I got 3 mediums for FAR and (barely) passed, so if you feel pretty confident you scored well on the two medium testlets and decent on the difficult one, I'm sure you're fine.

    AUD - 77
    BEC - 86
    FAR - 75
    REG - 77
No need to worry, my accountant handles that.

What gives you the ability to decipher a nedium testlet vs. a hard testlet? Did you write the exam?

STOP WORRYING ABOUT TESTLET DIFFICULTY. Study hard, take exam, move on. Racking your brain trying to figure out a hard vs. medium question is a pointless exercise.

    AUD - 93
    BEC - 85
    FAR - 85
    REG - 85

People always say they cant tell the difference between medium and hard testlets but I have felt like I could. I felt exactly the same as you and got a 87 so you're probably fine! 🙂

I don't know if you use Wiley CPAexcel, but I do and it specifically talks about testlet difficulty for AUD, FAR, and REG…NOT BEC.

“Exam Tip :The default difficulty for REG, FAR, and AUD is moderate. Do well on the first testlet, and it will transition to difficult.”

But it's really not worth it on any of them to take time out of your day to think about the difficulty level of a testlet. It's over with and you can't change anything now. Just hope for the best!!

    AUD - 72
    BEC - 75
    FAR - 82
    REG - 80
It will all be worth it...hopefully
