i take BEC tm, just looking for some quick time management tips. I figure 2 hours for MC, 1 for Sims, 1 for writing.

Also I have heard that many people have time left over. Is this correct?

I think the rule of thumb is about 1.5 hours for MCQs, 45 minutes per testlet.
15-20 per written portion would leave you 1.5 hours for SIMS.

    Is this your first exam?

I agree with recked. I was super surprised how much time the Sims took.

If this is your first test I will give you advanced warning that whatever review course you are using is not giving you a fair representation of the actual test SIMs.
Push your MCQs to 45 minutes per testlet.
Leave an hour for the written at the end. Leave yourself 1.5 hours for the SIMs.
Both Gleim and Roger recommend approx 45 minutes for each MCQ testlet.
2 hours is just too long.
I spent 1.45 on MCQs on FAR and ran out of time.
Closer to 1.5 hours for MCQs on Audit and was much more comfortable with time towards the end.

OK. Also, I am doing the AICPA practice exams, and they give me the equations for many metrics. Is this how it is going to be on the actual test?

I also agree with recked, you do not want to spend too much time on MCQ (45 mins). SIMS on BEC are not overly difficult, but they aren't easy. Therefore you do not want to be starting the SIMS testlets on a time crunch. I made sure not to exceed 45 mins each MCQ testlet and had plenty of time for SIMS and WC. I finished the exam with 45 mins to spare.

I dont want to finish with time to spare. I mean, I paid for it, I hope am to completing the exam until the final bell or five minutes before. If I have time to spare, then I could go back and check my answers

Better off to have time left over than to run out of time.
Any spare time can be used to fine tune for written responses as they are in the last testlet.

With the new version of BEC, which includes SIMs, I don't think many people have much time left over. I was left with 30 minutes for the WC's – luckily all three were easy, and had about 45 seconds on the clock after the third one was completed. I took a long time to do the MCQ – which according to my score report, I did well on. But, it sucked away most of the time that I should have spent on the SIMs, which I absolutely tanked on. I would give yourself about 90 minutes and not 2 hours for the MCQ's. They don't give as many MCQ's these days on BEC.
Leave yourself a lot of time for the SIMs, and a good amount of time for the WC's, lest you end up with some difficult ones (SIM or WC) that really require some brain usage. As a rule, I have not seen that the MCQ's on these CPA exams are anything too strenuous, they're rather short questions. They're not going to give you a bunch of MCQ where each one might take 10 minutes to answer.
