I keep hearing that BEC is the “easiest” exam, but these written communication tasks worry me. How did you prepare for these? Did you attempt to write each one in the Becker practice and then compare it to the “correct” answer? Is there a certain strategy you use in answering if you don’t know remember the topic? How is it graded? Any and all advice please! Thanks!

It's graded by computer 99% of the time. The only time when a real human will grade it is when your borderline of passing.

If English is your first language, don't even bother wasting your time practicing it. I never practiced it when I took BEC a few weeks ago.

Search the forum because there many people asking the same thing, but the gist is memorize the template, spam keywords, avoid grammar and spelling mistakes and never abbreviate.

If you could do that and write like a 12th grader, then you are golden for the WC.

@NeedsA75 Yes and it's still at 15%. All they did was cut down on the MCQ, added TBS and of course bumped it 1hr longer.

I'm a bad writer and I followed the advice on the board and apparently did fine. Use proper memo format, complete sentences, key words and stay on topic. Do that and you will be fine.

The WC is easy points. The problem I think is because it's weighed 15%, people underestimate how long it takes to answer the questions therefore having incomplete essays and losing easy points. I can tell you I scored weaker on MC and Stronger on BEC because I spent a bit too much time on the WC but I still passed. You don't needn't to practice the WC, just give yourself reasonable time that it will take for you to write.

I was super nervous about this, but never really practiced them in earnest, other than read the “solution” in becker to the ones they had. If you have a decent command of the English language, can format it properly (memo format), you will be fine.

Do NOT neglect the WC's. They are very easy points after you practice writing them using your software. Don't spend too much time on them, but at least have a standardized memo and practice them. Of course MCQ's are more important, but the WC's can be the difference between a pass or fail. Goodluck.
