    Hi everyone,

so i found out that i got a 63 on FAR(2nd attempt, same score) and 68(1st attempt) in BEC this past window. I currently use the Becker software. I’m not so sure how else I should approach studying as I’ve done all the m.c. and sims and have taken my own notes. I was wondering if I should consider supplementing it with the NINJA review course? What has your experience been? Was it worth it? Also, would the review course be updated to the 2019 changes for these exams?

For FAR, i feel like the SIMS are my weak point. I’ve practice all the sims in the software but they are so much easier compared to the ones we get on the exam. Did you feel the NINJA sims prepared you well? Any other study tips to make my score increase?

I think most people on here don't really practice the SIMS verbatim. More like they follow the AICPA blue print and just hammer more MCQ in those testable areas.

Personally, I've found Becker overpriced for what they give you. I never liked highlighting and underlying, instead I prefer to watch lectures, make notes as I watch, bang-out MCQ, then incorporate explanations into my notes as needed.

NINJA is excellent. Jeff gives you only what you need to pass. He doesn't soley rely on memory tricks like Becker does. Sometimes those help but I needed substance; I didn't work in Accounting at the time.

Also consider switching because it's a hell of a lot cheaper and it'll be a change of pace for the same material.

I agree with Mike. The Ninja book was a lot more straightforward and easier to read for me than those 1000+ page books you get in Becker, Wiley, etc. As Mike said it, NINJA “trims the fat”. I actually understood the material better the second time around for FAR for my retake using NINJA. Granted I got a 74, I am confident I would not have gotten a higher score than my last attempt if I had stuck to Wiley's materials.

I switched from Becker to Ninja. I like to say its very economical $ wise. I still wish I could win some of those monthly subscriptions lol.
In regards to the material, I only concern myself with MCQs usually and the blitz/plus videos on FAR– super helpful (especially on government accounting and leases if you have trouble with them).

I've never used Becker, I used Yaeger originally but now I'm using NINJA only. Like others have said, I appreciate that there is no excess and I'm not paying someone to tell me what to read and not read from a large textbook. If it's in the NINJA material, you need to know it. As Jeff says a lot, you're just trying to pass the exam, you're not trying to learn every little detail. I learn better from reading and writing notes so the NINJA framework works great for me. If you prefer videos, the few NINJA Plus videos I have used to supplement my reading were fantastic and much easier watching than the videos from other providers I have seen.

I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious.
