Becker Question – I don’t know if its just me or if others are facing similar issues, now that the pre-annotated book is impossible to print I find myself hating Olinto’s lectures. It takes me as much time to highlight, box off, circle, etc etc, as it takes for him to go over the section so i find myself watching the lectures twice. dont get me wrong he is a good teacher but at the end of the day i feel like some pages have less highlighted than not highlighted. I do understand the the majority of the book is important however i spend so much time highlighting boxing squaring that i dont realized wtf he is talking about.

I do not have all the time in the world either and when this frustrates me enough ( like it did just now) i say screw this i have had enough for the day! with Tim’s lectures although a bit more dull I can watch, follow along and absorb most of the knowledge.

I might be the only one in this boat.

@Akula-easy now-I love Peter Olinto-he is the only thing that got me through it, however, I found it much more bearable to listen to the lectures without sitting by the book, then doing MCQ, then re-reading the book on my own and repeating parts of the lecture that weren't clear. 🙂 Tim Gearty is worse in my opinion, now Mike and Angie Brown-those are just terrible! Thankfully, they only made an appearance in BEC for me… I would listen to the lecture on my drive into work-worked out fairly well.

I pull up the annotated book and read it, transferring the markings to my paper book. Then I listen to the lecture, occasionally adding additional notes. The lectures are mostly for reinforcement for me and to explain what some of the notes meant. Personally I can't focus on listening and writing at the same time. (Also, I love doing this online. I could never have gotten through Becker in a classroom!)

I found Mike Brown to be okay in Audit once I forced myself to pay attention. He's actually pretty good at explaining stuff, I just find him a bit long-winded. I've only encountered Angie Brown so far in parts of FAR Final Review and I had to skip her lectures. It's Final Review, I want it short and sweet not long and drawn out. Is she in BEC? (Edit – I see in another post that she is.) I liked Peter and Tim in FAR, but I wasn't as fond of Tim in AUD. He's okay in REG (I haven't gotten to Peter in REG yet.)

@Jen J-Peter Olinto in REG is awesome, explaining legal terminology with a fake example of seeing Tim Gearty drowning-I must be a total dork, but he made me laugh! And how about his lecture in FAR-when he is talking about leases, I think, and saying-when you are on a date, recite this to them, and if they don't throw their dinner at you, their are a keeper! Who is better than us? no body! I love it, see- dork:) LOL!
