    Hi everyone,

I just started studying for the CPA exam a month ago for REG and AUD. I had a question regarding what I should do to prepare for the CPA exam. So far I’ve just been reading the Becker book and will be doing the questions they have in their test bank. I found their videos to be quite useless as they don’t actually teach the material. I’m not quite sure if I’m fully grasping the material which is why I’m considering buying Rogers. Upon looking at past forums, I’ve seen people supplementing Roger with NINJA.

In your opinion, what would be a better investment? Becker + NINJA and I just read the becker books/final review books? Or Becker+Roger and if needed NINJA test bank?

I'd recommend you try the trials for every review course provider you can get your hands on.
I am a visual learned and after my trial periods I ended up going with Roger for the lectures.

Memento Mori - Kingston NY CPA & EA (SUNY Albany 2002)

    FAR-93 11/9/17 (10wks, 250 hrs, Roger 1800+ MCQs, Gleim TB 600+MCQs, SIMs)
AUD-88 12/7/17 (3 wks, 85 hrs, Roger 1000 MCQs no SIMs hail mary)
    REG-96 1/18/18 (6 wks, 110 hrs, 1400 MCQs, no SIMs)
    BEC-91 2/16/18 (4wks, 90 hrs, 1240 MCQs)

I agree with Recked. Roger has really good videos. I think their free trial is like 5 days of full access. I supplemented with Ninja for FAR and thought it worked well, but we'll see on the 19th.

    FAR - 85 (12/17)
    AUD - 80 (1/18)
    REG - 83 (6/18)
    BEC - 85 (7/18)

Becker should be enough. It’s actually more than enough. I couldn’t really finish their materials 100% in one window. If I can, I would’ve passed each part at one time without having to retake the two credits (AUD & FAR) that I lost in 2015. Becker Software is the best in the world, except that some of the videos are stupid and are just waste of time to watch, especially the highlighting, connecting the arrow to the right, or to the left, etcetera. Come on Becker, even the blind reviewees hate you for having them to highlight, box it out, encircle in red, etcetera. The videos are already showing them in red ink on screen, why keep repeating what to do?
The lecturers should just teach, not tell to do this and that. Although, Peter Olinto DOES a great job in teaching. Nobody could equal him as far as lecturing skills, OLINTO IS indeed THE BEST. If only I could borrow his brain in each sitting in all of the CPA tests, I’m sure I’d nail the test.
The second thing that I don’t particularly like about Becker is their Progress Test software. The answers to teach question cannot be seen until you finish the batch of MCQs. I want to know how I did after each question. That’s when NINJA MCQ becomes the best MCQ software in the market.
If I were you, I’d partner your Becker software with NINJA MCQ and you’ll be surely be GOLD!
    Good luck.

For me, I was with Roger for all 4 parts plus all Roger Cram Courses. Just stick with one main material, making sure you are good with it and you can use Ninja as supplement if you need. I use ninja audio for REG and it really helped me a lot. I also bought ninja MCQ for Audit but ended up with not time to review it.

    AUD - 86
    BEC - 79
    FAR - 87
    REG - 85
    I'mpossible!
