Can anyone tell me the strategy of how to become a master of FAR SIM? Becker SIMs seem to be very easy compared with the real exam ones.

    Thanks for your advise.

I'm struggling with the same issue. Can generally reason my way through MCQ but it falls apart on the SIMS! Following to see responses, Good luck!

Just practice them rigorously. I like to read all the information first and really look for what exactly they are asking you to do. Then I will take each scenario and create a journal entry for each bit of information. I really see things well in journal entries. I've seen where people say you don't need to practice SIMS, but that strategy didn't work for me. I would get really overwhelmed with the amount of information and get frustrated while taking the exam. This time around I practiced them often, and it really paid off. Also, make sure you are using the split screen so that you are not having to continuously pull up documents

The SkillMaster videos. I didn't even work the SIMS on my own. Instead, I would take a first pass while going over the SkillMaster videos and really learning how the instructors worked the problems. Then would skim over the answers after working alongside the instructor videos. I went through every SIM twice before the exam.

@Icarito – skillmaster must be Becker?

My teenage son to me "If you don't pass, it isn't like you'll die or anything."  True.  Very true.  Just do your best, it's all you can do.

Was no master, but I liked doing sims bc they really brought many concepts together for me. I never practiced a sim expecting to get anything similar on the test. However, aicpa sample sims would be the best bet for you if you want close to the real thing than becker.
