    Hi everyone,

Quick question, I don’t work for a big 4 firm but my girlfriend does. She works in audit and her 1st year pay was $49k +$5k for passing the CPA (which she did). She just found out her 2nd year salary is a whopping $52k.

Is this typical? She is at the top of her class of 2nd years and she only get a 6% raise?

    BEC - 81
    FAR - 76
    REG - 79

So it really depends on where your at locality-wise, but yea that seems about right. Also, 6% raise is pretty good no matter where you work. It does appear depressing when you look at the minuscule difference in a bi-weekly paycheck though.

That's a common raise %. She will get the bigger bump when she becomes a senior. She won't make money in Public Accounting until she becomes a manager though.

    AUD - 86
    BEC - 86
    FAR - 91
    REG - 88

Agree with the above. She won't see any major raises the first 1-3 years in public. When she becomes Senior she will see a nice little bump (likely $60k+) and Manager (likely $85k+).

By the time she puts in a year or two as Senior at a Big 4, she can probably find decent jobs in a private company and earn $100K+ if she plays her cards right.
