Big 4 interview

Say I just passed the uniform CPA exam, and I have a masters in Taxation.

I am applying to the Big 4 firms and want to specialize in tax. However, I need the minimum amount of audit hours so I am able to officially be licensed as a CPA.

Can anybody who has been in a similar situation tell me what they did/said in their interview? Or recommend how to go about conveying this situation to the firm?

Thank you in advance and I would greatly appreciate any advice whatsoever!

you dont need to go the audit hours pathway…you can still be certified and just not have the ability to sign off on FS. That's my game plan. Been in tax and tax only and never plan to do a lick of audit work other than the studying for the AUD section.

If you research the ins and outs of this tax only designation and explain clearly and confidently in your interview that you are passionate about tax and know its what you want to do and thus your focus on just getting to that point they'll probably understand

Does it matter what state you're licensed in?

Go get licensed in a state that doesn't have the specific audit hours requirement.
