Big 4 Interview: Help with question: Why tax?

    Hello Everyone,

    A little background about myself, I have been working in a state tax department for approximately 1.5 years now and have decided to move into public.

    I have an interview with one of the Big 4s coming up.

    Can you guys give me some ideas on how you would answer the question regarding Why tax?

    Why not tax. Tax is the most complicated problem there is. When government needs money, they create a new tax law to collect tax revenue. Tax will be here to stay.

    i would say that you love that the tax code is constantly changing, and like to research & stay on top of recent tax legislation to bring value to clients

    I had my interview during the Fall semester of my senior year. I was taking audit in the spring. I simply said that I had already taken three tax classes and enjoyed them, and hadn't taken audit yet.
