Hello! So I may be overreacting to this, as I do with everything else, so please give me some piece of mind!

I will be starting at a big4 firm shortly and am filling out the background check forms. I interned with this firm over a year ago and don’t believe they ever called my references since I asked to receive a copy of my background check and never received one. I am worried that my past employers won’t check out since they are from my crummy little college town and were college jobs. One was working for a tutoring service and one was working in a restaurant. I know that the owner of the tutoring service will check out but I’m scared that the restaurant won’t since they have tons of turnover,frequent new management and I haven’t worked there for over 2 years.

I am nervous because I don’t want to lose my first “grown up” job over something so stupid that was a college job. I have worked so hard to achieve the grades I did and to pass all 4 parts of the CPA prior to my start date.

Does anyone know if the big4 cares about my college jobs?? Thanks!!

Literally no one is going to give a shit about your college jobs. Just make sure to know excel and be ready to work your butt off for busy season. Read a book or two on on emotional intelligence and you’ll be well on your way to being an all star first year associate
