I’m so burnt out today. I can’t bear to look at FAR. I feel guilty for not studying.

Take a breather! Go do something else. You need to give your brain a break or you cannot study efficiently. I also feel guilty when not studying so I find that after a few hours doing something I enjoy, I can get back at it with a fresh mind.

If you have enough REG knowledge under your belt at this point, maybe you need the afternoon to not study and then go back at it full force tomorrow? I know how you feel. I retested two this window and am now studying for another retake on one of them. I am so ready to be done with this.

Make this a review session for the stuff you've done so far.

Print out the Becker outlines and skim through the material, highlighting and writing notes on the outline. Do some progress tests.

I think studying hardcore for leases last night killed me. LOL.

^^^^ I feel the same way Rocky.. leases, bonds, then pensions to start the next chapter. Why does Becker torture us So..

    BEC - 76 7/22/14
    AUD - 84 8/30/14
    REG - 75 10/16/14
    FAR - 87 11/24/14

Pensions aren't too bad. I just can't seem to wrap my head around bonds. Especially when they talk about warrants, etc.

Ugh. I'm praying for an “easy” FAR exam. I would have nailed the last one if I had actually studied. My last one was heavy on conceptual questions and the calculations were very basic.

Rocky you should make a list of the concepts you're unsure of. E.g. you get how the effective interest rate, premium and discounts work, etc, etc EXCEPT warrants.

That way instead of feeling like you don't understand “bonds” you don't understand “warrants”. And we can help you out with questions then!

Sometimes you can overload your brain. Go on a walk, or exercise, or do anything that will take your mind off of it for a little bit. If you don't rest your brain it won't be able to work effectively.

Fair enough. I understand premiums, discounts, coupon rates, effective interest rates, etc. I can put together a reasonable table to amortize a premium or discount.

After that, I'm lost. I can do the basics. That's it.

    @brooks303

Just came back from a run at lunch. I took my Becker book with me and studied bonds while I ran on the treadmill. At least I did something today.

I'm going to rewatch the lecture on bonds tonight. I know that a lot of people don't bother with lectures, but it helps me a lot. I even rewatch lectures of material that I'm comfortable with to reinforce it.

You guys are all ahead of me (I just started FAR yesterday after REG retake on Saturday) so it's understandable you feel burnt out

Rocky123, I found the Becker lectures very helpful. Due to time, i only watched the lectures formthe last half of FAR and AUD, almost no questions and no sims (no sims at all for either section). Granted, the entire study program is best if you give yourself enough time to do it, but in the case of FAR i put it off so much and had an expiring NTS i had to do it the way i did. With aud i was just burnt out and only studied about a week and a half. I have been doing auditing for eleven months though so I figured that would help and it did. Don't dismiss the lectures if they help you, everybody learns a little differently.

    FAR - 90
    REG - 90
    BEC - 91
    AUD - 99
